I know most of these changes happened 10 days ago, but I haven't seen a thread really disecting them yet so...
And more importantly putting them on people who are pretty much stuck with TNA? It seems like with negotations continuing TNA is actually doing some smart booking an only putting their titles on people they know they can keep. Just look at the current champs:
Bobby Roode: Lashley makes so much more sense to have as champ if you're looking at the short game. Yet, with Lashley's MMA and past WWE fame he could leave them at the drop of a hat either to do something in MMA or possibly work for some other wrestling company for bigger bucks. Roode on the other hand has been with the company since 2004. Roode isn't going anywhere.
Abyss and James Storm: Okay, this is where TNA's booking becomes obvious. When have Abyss and Storm ever tagged together outside of this run? Yet, they're TNA originals so it makes sense to stick them together since they're not going anywhere. The American Wolves on the other hand? Yeah, another two who will leave at the drop of a hat.
Low Ki: This one looks a little confusing at first since unlike the aformentioned three Ki has left TNA for extended periods of time and bitched about working for them too I believe. Yet, only like a year ago Ki was talking about retiring forever. I'm guessing TNA promised Ki the world just to come back. Ki isn't getting any younger so while NJPW and ROH could bid for him I'm thinking at this point it just may not be worth it for NJPW or ROH who have stacked rosters.
Taryn Terrell: Hasn't really done much in the wrestling industry so far and I don't see companies looking to bid over her. Still, they could just to hurt TNA which makes this one a head scratcher. If TNA was going to promise the world to a Knockout just to keep them on as champ no matter what I figure it would more likely be Havok. Oh well. TNA has never really seemed to give a shit about its female workers so maybe this is just a continuation of that.

The title here might be a little spoilerific given that they aren't going to be aired until November, and I know there are people here that try to avoid spoilers around here.

They chucked the titles on people who won't be in demand because there's less odds that they'll walk and it's more likely that they'll stick around no matter what they're being paid or how much the company is hanging onto the edge of a cliff.

If I was someone who didn't read spoilers and I came into the TNA section and saw that title, man would I be pissed right now.
To answer the OP's question though, it's they put the titles on the people they have contracts with. It's that simple. Most everyone's contract comes up in the next few months and they are either signing per appearance extensions or leaving. Those people have per appearance contracts that go a bit. Pretty much all there is to it.

This is really unrelated, but they should put Skirt Tiffany in charge of TNA. At least while ECW was dying on her watch it was good.

Oops, sorry for the spoilers guys. Hopefully it didn't ruin anything for people. I haven't really talked too much on this board about things in TNA yet to air and since it seems impossible to go to a Newz site without them being spoiled I figured they were fair game. Again, my apologies.

I think Roode won because they can't afford Lashley for much longer.

Roode getting the title off of Lashley makes perfect sense and needed to happen. Yeah he was better than EY but that wasn't saying much, IMO. He cannot carry a storyline and with MVP healthy everything was going to go back to him.
Ki seems like a knee jerk reaction to Joe possibly being injured. The fact that him winning the title will more than likely air and against Joe (and someone else) well after he defends it at BFG is insane.
The tag belts follows up on Storm's Redneck Revolution stuff and I think gets Davey off the road since his leg is messed up (could be off on this part though).
Now the KOs belt is inexcusable. They bring in Havok, have her wreck bitches, win the title and then lose it the very next week to Taryn who outside of gimmick matches has shown she doesn't have much to offer.

I think Roode won because they can't afford Lashley for much longer. I doubt they'll be able to keep using Lashley once they split from Spike. He's contracted to Bellator, which is owned by Spike so I imagine his contract basically just loans him to TNA

Lol is Roode now ranked higher in bellator? In all seriousness I always thought Lashley had both deals

But I'd be really surprised if Spike was cool with Lashley being in TNA after they leave the network. And I'd also be surprised if Lashley chose TNA over Bellator FC if he were ever given an ultimatum

Other than the contract situations with all the wrestler's could just be who they want to start fresh with for the new year. Personally I consider BFG a freakin one off that really doesn't matter in 616 TNA (yay comic book reference). IF they have a new channel to start off the new year with, going to have some new eyeballs watching the show might as well change it up. Got your best all around as your champ. Ki as your secondary holder and can have enjoyable x-division style matches...you know like the old days of the division, make everyone ooh and ahhh. Got your evil bad guy tag team. Gotta have one heal with a belt. And you got your blonde barbie doll as your champ. She doesn't look like a walking STD (not naming names) and as an added bonus, due to her being a stuntwoman IRL, she can bump like a fiend for whomever. This all just screams soft reboot.

Wait, so is Samoa Joe defending a title he's already lost at Bound For Glory?
In terms of thinking of everything already filmed as events that have already happened, does Bound For Glory interrupt continuity in any other sort of way?

Based on them dropping Styles, Daniels, Kazarian, Bully, Angle and tons of other long-term talents I don't think anyone is safe from 'going anywhere.'
