Claire Lynch was bad but at least it was just a few weeks (IIRC) and not at the main event level.
Abyss and Hogan's HOF Ring wasn't the worst angle TNA ran, but in terms of when they did it (needing to hook those Monday night viewers), how long it dragged on for and the total lack of interest it drew, it's got to be right up there.

Actually this. I originally voted Roode/Young neverending story because goddamn that angle would just not die. But Jones is stupider. Jones had charisma and heat when he debuted but motherf***er COULDN'T WRESTLE. Not talent wise. He wasn't allowed to. And in front of a crowd of smarks who you know read the newz, it was impossibly stupid.

James Mitchell is Abyss' father and brings in his brother to destroy him. Especially after they did Joseph Parks and totally contradicts the whole thing.

Pacman Jones for sure. Instead of just abandoning it when he couldn't wrestle, they had to put a title on him and make cockamamie ways to avoid him ending touched. The making it rain jokes were pretty tasteless too.
The Christy Hemme/VKM storyline where the faces called a slut was real bad too.

That time they turned Pope D'Angelo heel while he was an over-like-rover face by having him stage dog fights was pretty stupid.

The whole damned Dixie/Bully fiasco. Never mind the fact that the entire angle driven around a 300-pound "bully" and his unrepentant desire to drive a 50 year old woman through a table, never mind the fact that Dixie actually got injured going through the table, never mind #ItHappens; the simple fact that this entire angle's logical conclusion is only logical if you realize the Dixie/Bully feud started when Aces and Eights took the company from Dixie Carter. So, at some point, this old woman taking her company back from the bikers just sort of randomly became heel, and the only proper retribution was for her to be damn near broken in half by one of those said bikers, and that makes sense somehow. Bit of a dark horse choice here, with the Winter/Angelina/Velvet storyline. Even getting beyond the waste of the former talent, the silliness of Winter's ambiguous vampire/witch/destiny/time travel shtick, the idiocy of only Angelina seeing her at first, the clear contrast in the more competent Knockout storylines of 07/08, that it got no one over, Angelina's dead eye expression, no good matches, and that the whole angle didn't even make much sense, two other things specifically pissed me off about this whole thing. One, the use of the conniving lesbian female wrestler as the heel, which is just embarrassing for something circa 2011. Two, this angle featured segments of Angelina being brainwashed and even fed pills on camera by Winter, with the latter kissing her and giving her a topless back massage with Love being doped out of her mind on both occasions. So more or less a woman is being drugged and groped on TNA television with the most generous interpretation saying its with dubious consent, and more realistically with none at all by a heel and the reaction... Practically nothing. This disgusting and reprehensible series of acts by a one of their performers, which would be condemned if Winter was a male wrestler, is just another part of Knockouts storylines, because implications of sexual assault just don't count when it involves two chicks right? Seriously, f*** TNA for this. Criminy. I forgot just how bad this storyline was. I still have to go with Dixie/Bully, but this is a VERY close second.

James Mitchell is Abyss' father and brings in his brother to destroy him. Especially after they did Joseph Parks and totally contradicts the whole thing. And now I remember that stupid storyline where apparently Abyss shot his father in the head or something, but his mother had kept it secret until she was forced to reveal it on live television. And of course Abyss never got arrested or anything afterward. And then it was revealed that his father was James Mitchell. Which raises... alot of questions. The most important one being "Were they trying to make Kane's backstory seem coherent by comparison?"

Seriously, f*** TNA for this. Yeah, this post just reminded me of that angle and how reprehensible it was in hindsight. At least Immortal, Hogan's WWE HoF Ring, and Claire Lynch were just dumb. That angle was both dumb and really f***ed up. Christy Hemme/VKM was really bad, too. Because somehow the misogynistic assholes who wanted to put women like Christy in their place were the faces. And I think framing it as social commentary on patriarchal society is a little too clever for TNA.

August 1 Warning is still the funniest wrestling debut I've ever seen. Every time I watch it I howl with laughter. From the hilariously awful theme, to Tito's ridiculous mannerisms, to Mr Anderson blatantly not giving a f***, to the crowd being completely silent. It's comedy gold.

It is a very small angle, but turning Okada into the stererotypical Okato ruined TNA's relationship with New Japan.

Another thing that pissed me off was Dixie tweeting about how the August 1 Warning reveal was gonna be epic and promised to deliver. I don't know like insulting the fans' intelligence. I think Tito wouldn't been so shitty if they would've done something with him, but they pulled him out like 2 weeks in.

I didn't see when they finally got Dixie...how was it different from 2000 when the Dudleys were obsessed with finally catching Trish and putting her through a table? Because Trish had some basic wrestling training and knew how to take a bump. Plus 2000 was a different time and culture.

I will always remember how much everyone was let down when it wasn't Hardcore Holly. When fans are sad not to see Holly, you know your surprise debut sucks. I remember seeing a lot more love for Holly on the boards after that.

Remember Bullet Bob Armstrong whipping LAX in a cage? That was all kinds of terrible. I distinctly remember thinking that TNA would have to do something drastic, like having Konnan threatened to murder white people, in order to get LAX their heat back. And that's exactly what they did. And it was awesome. As for me, I would have to go with Immortal. It's what drove me from the company for nearly two years. My wife, on the other hand, is going with Sting and Abyss. More specifically, the events that led up to the Deathbed Match. '"I'm going to save your soul, Abyss. And I'm going to do it by beating you with this plastic candelabra!' Come on!"
