So it's that time of year where something comes up with the claim he still alive without it being him revealed in any shape or form.

I just thought that it was worth posting, because if he is/were alive, Zmuda would perhaps have been the only one who would have known. But now it seems like he's just one of the bullshit feeders

I'd rather it be Bill Hicks personally, but that's 100% legit not going to happen. Still funny that Kaufman's the kind of comedian that makes you wonder whether or not this could actually be a thing.

Andy Kaufman and Jim Morrison are the only two celebrities who I can sorta get behind the idea of they might have faked their deaths. I don't know if I believe either entirely, but still.

Even if he does "reveal himself", it'll likely be as Tony Clifton (who zmuda has also played), so we wouldnt have any proof anyway.

Honestly if Kaufman is truly alive then the ideal time to come out hiding would be when Man on Moon came out.
Because now its been 30 years and really not too many people give a shit about this whole death hoax theory crap.

You know, a part of me would be amused if someone like Elvis or Andy Kaufman was indeed faking his death, but ends up dying of natural causes just before he reveals the prank, and the world is none the wiser.

Ok, about 15 years ago zmuda did an interview where he said Kaufman had suggested the death faking. Zmuda then said he told Kaufman that it would be illegal. If what he is now saying is true then he's part of a conspiracy. And runs the risk of a police investigation. No, this is a prank and and unfunny one at that. The joke is people will believe he faked his death even though he didn't.

I hope he's alive so that Lawler can piledrive him some more. And give that bum Zmuda one for good measure!

Still funny that Kaufman's the kind of comedian that makes you wonder whether or not this could actually be a thing. And I think that right there was truly the joke Kaufman wanted to play. The fact that people still believe he may be alive would probably bring the biggest smile to his face, and must to those who were close to him.

Bob Zmuda: I understand he wants to keep his friend's legacy alive, but the joke's over, dude.

If he didn't come back for the 20th year anniversary like he said he was going to (hell we just passed the 30 year anniversary earlier this year).
He's dead.

That seems like a solid premise for a movie about someone who was basically a pastiche of guys like Kaufman, Sasha Baron-Cohen, Frank Zappa, etc, with the whole "challenging the boundaries of entertainment" kind of approach, with it ending like that.

I bet Andy reveals himself when all of a sudden an "Andy Kaufman" twitter account is verified.
