I love Adam Sandler. I feel most guys in the late 20's early 30's range have to be fans of his. He helped raise us. I will always see his movies, so good for him.
Also, this is the direction things are going. Get in on the bottom floor of the "on demand original content" and ride it to the top, it is the future.

Why do people still give him money? the real question is why the hell do people keep going to his terrible movies. The REAL question is: Why can't people accept that others have differing tastes?

Because other peoples opinions on things are wrong -_- edit: Though my response was meant more as to why people giving him money. It's because no matter how bad the majority opinion seems to be on his films they tend to turn a profit.

According to the BBC though, in 2013, he had the worst conversion rate of salary to ticket sales of anyone that year.

...if they're one-hour films or close to it, it might be a good deal: If US minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, and Netflix is $7.99 a month, then it's close to paying the viewer for the 90 minutes of their life they'll never get back after watching an Adam Sandler movie. So...good deal on Netflix's part.

I kind of wonder what people would say if someone polled them on why they watch Adam Sandler films, now that you mention it. For the record, I like Adam Sandler in general (I haven't seen Jack and Jill or That's My Boy and probably never will) and I absolutely loved the first Grown Ups movie, but even I think that the backlash against Sandler is huge for how much he makes.

"Blended" made $126.8 million. "Grown Ups 2" made $246.9 million. "That's My Boy" made $57.7 million. "Jack and Jill" made $149.6 million. "Just Go With It" made $214.9 million.
Adam Sandler's last five starring ventures made a combined $795 million. If anyone still has any questions, THAT is why Netflix made this deal.

I...I liked That's My Boy. Me too. The film is pure unapologetic trailer trash and I love it! Also best twist ending ever

seems like a good deal for both. I've liked some sandlers work but is any one really going to the cinema to see "jack and jill" or "thats my boy" featuring vanilla ice Cause Billy Madison is soooooooooo f***ing intelligent.... That's my boy was awesome.

It's because no matter how bad the majority opinion seems to be on his films they tend to turn a profit. Because people with negative opinions are the loudest and most vocal. If people really stopped spending money on things that seemed hated there would be no Simpsons, Family Guy, Seth Rogen movies, music that uses autotune, or Michael Bay films.

I haven't really watched Adam Sandler movies since my early college years, but good for Sandler and Netflix. For the record, I do love Punch-Drunk Love, though that obviously wasn't produced by Sandler.

I will never forgive Adam Sandler for what he did to Angry Jake with That's My Boy. This is why I hope Adam Sandler and Netflix burn in hell.

I think a lot of people are presuming movies starring Adam Sandler (which still seem like kind of a big deal?) will be exclusive to Netflix. But then you see Happy Madison and you realize this is just where Bucky Larson 2 and Deuce Bigalow 3: Vaccinations Are For Whores will be going.....

Cause Billy Madison is soooooooooo f***ing intelligent.... That's my boy was awesome. i honestly kinda enjoyed that film but i cant explain why im not sure i even laughed It's a dumb and silly unapologetic hard R comedy. Light hearted til the end unlike 90 percent of every other "comedy" in the post Apatow world we live in. I never understood why Films like That's my Boy were ridiculed when stuff like Billy Madison is revered. When Billy Madison, is just as dumb, silly and over the top. I definitely agree that Grown Ups Two, and that one Jennifer Aniston movie were dumb though. I haven't seen Blended because it didn't look very different than the Aniston flick.

Wow this backlash is amazing as if everyone here as a gun pointed to there head that says you have to watch them. Some people like he work and some don't. Nobody is wrong in this. I had no issues with Grown ups. Some of his movies yes are bad IMO and others are good IMO. Lets see what kind of movies to come from this.

Listen, we're not idiots. His recent movies aren't too good. (Yet they don't deserved to be hated on so much sans Jack and Jill.) At any rate I feel that there will always be an unconditional love from us who were "raised" on him
