So, Chavo: I'm wondering if he's done as far as wrestling, and will transition to a behind-the-scenes role. I know he's been in the credits in some capacity. Along that same line, what's the story with Blue Demon? He showed up one more time to cost Chavo the Aztec Warfare, and then disappeared again without blowing off the feud. What's everyone's thoughts on possibly having the AAA Title defended in LU? Will it help legitimize the promotion, or serve to undermine LU's own title? Chavo's character is being written off so he can take on his duties backstage full time. I hope his feud with Blue Demon is over because those two had no chemistry and dragged down the show. Same for his feud with Sexy Star. Lucha Underground is basically AAA USA so eventually the Mega title was going to make an appearance. One of the reasons why Alberto got the belt so soon was to help AAA gain a footing in the US market. Seeing how his feud with El Texano is going, it will exist in its own storyline from Lucha Underground's other stories.

He's there as a fan of the product and to do podcasts with some of the stars. As of this point, no matter how much anyone wants to cry harbinger of death the guys at LU are not Dixie Carter and El Ray is not Spike so if they say Russo isn't working with them, which they have as has he, then he's not working there. Calm down.

Calm down. We have no frame of reference as to how these people will and won't behave and Vince Russo has a track record of being brought in for other things then getting a place on the creative team as people backstage like him, he talked Bill Watts, Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter into it so I feel the only way to be safe is to have him nowhere near.

I can't even blame Russo anymore; I blame the people who hire him. Any misfortune that befalls Lucha Underground will fall on the shoulders of Eric Van Wagenen.

I'm going to continue to watch the show and enjoy it and operate on the idea that Russo is there as part of his podcast until I get serious confirmation otherwise.
By the way, I'll second the praise for Alberto's promo. That was astounding.
I also really like Ivelisse a lot. It's the only singles match I've seen of hers but she looked great against Angelico.

You know what? I actually want to see how much insanity Russo might bring if he's hired on. We already seen ninja detectives, midgets, transvestites, a monster locked up in the basement, Chavo, women fighting men, a guy thinks he's a dragon, etc.

He had so much time and freedom to produce something worthwhile in TNA, he had a few moments where things looked like they were about to click but they never did. I cannot fathom why anyone would want to see him dismantle an otherwise watchable promotion as we know he will, and turn it into another attitude era revival show.

Pimpinela Escarlata is not Cassandro. Totally different exotico. But the point is that Lucha Underground has some gimmicks that are not based in reality or exactly groundbreaking. The Crew are chulo thugs for hire. If you look at future spoilers for the show, they already doing Russo like things without his involvement. All this would be is attaching his name to the scripts.

I know he isn't, but if Russo's ideas were that big an issue for Cassandro, I'm not sure why Pimpinela Escarlata would receive better treatment. There's a difference between using Russo inspired ideas and letting the man loose on show booked around a style of wrestling he has no real affection for, around the kind of talent he sidelined and humiliated in another promotion.

Cassandro's beef got more to do with him feeling TNA was homophobic than how his character was suppose to be. And Lucha Underground is booked like a tv show with a bunch of writers, not a booker. Russo won't be writing the show by his lonesome. Russo may toss out ideas but that doesn't mean it shows up on screen.
