So Dario is gone, the heels hold all the championships, the hero of Mexico is broken and defeated, Vampiro has shown his true colors, the babyfaces are riding off to regroup and fight another day, Sexy Star's been kidnapped and the lights are out in the Temple. What a cliffhanger to end on, I can't wait for season 2. Oh god, they're setting up Rey Mysterio as the ultimate savior, aren't they? Maybe not as the savior, but I could see them writing Rey as kind of like a Nick Fury figure assembling all the babyfaces from season 1 to go back to Boyle Heights and take back the temple.

Maybe they'll transition Rey as the new head of the promotion once the heroes overthrow Dario.

Anyone else think we may get something regarding LU's future tonight during TripleMania? It was this time last year that Dario appeared and made the official announcement for Lucha Underground.

Apparently AAA and El Rey are talking about bringing AAA itself in some form to El Rey. I really hope not as I think that could be the end of LU.

I really hope they are aware of how badly alot of people want Lucha Underground not that I would have a problem with AAA but it just would not be the same.
I still hold hope from the reddit AmA with one of the producers saying that the nearest point we would get season 2 would be January of 2016 so untill it becomes a official I rest my hope on the producers word for the moment.

I've already mentioned that on here. officialfan.proboards.com/thread/528678/aaa-looking-another-show-reyI think it would be something similar to what NJPW has on AXS if they do.

I don't see thread for the triplemania ppv so I guess I can mention it here.
I hope in season 2 Drago returns with that giant skull entrance thing he just came out with although was scared he may tip over wearing that thing lol.

Hopefully Triplemania having been a gigantic trainwreck dumpster fire convinces them that they still need LU to settle into the US market.

I'm sure there would be a poll asking if you want a second season, but I think it would be a landslide "yes".

To be the number two heel in LU, he has such a great sense of humor about himself. I only wish I spoke Spanish to understand a lot of his promos.

That was one of the best "Hadokens" I've ever seen.

My local cable provider doesn't carry the El Rey Network (but somehow does carry Destination America ) so I've been following along with the highlights on YouTube. This is the most refreshing wrestling show I've seen in years. Every match seems to carry some weight behind it and everything seems to have a purpose. Everyone is presented as being credible athletes. The match between Pentagon and Vampiro felt like one of the most violent matches I've seen in years and it didn't need more than what was necessary to make it feel that way. Here's hoping they get picked up for another season and really catch fire.

Eric Van Wagenen, producer of Lucha Underground on El Rey Network, was a guest on this week’s episode of the Wrestling Compadres podcast, and during the appearance Van Wagenen had the following to say about a potential Lucha Underground season 2:
“I can tell you with almost full certainty that it is going to happen. The when and the where is all dependent on our ability to raise enough money to keep the production standards the same.
We are all very committed to keeping Lucha Underground the best looking, most innovative and most creative wrestling product out there. Sometimes it comes at a price. Vignettes, editing, they’re not cheap. El Rey is a great network to work with, they just can’t justify spending the kind of money that you would get form much bigger cable channel.
We are looking for alternative ways to raise money, whether that’s a secondary broadcast network, steaming services. We know there’s a #NetflixNeedsLucha hashtag going around that’s gaining traction. We are looking at all of our options and that will determine the when and the where. There is talk of moving to a cheaper location. If I were to guess, I would say we would be back on the air by January…
Everybody who is involved in the show is committed to keeping it on the air, but we are committed to keeping THIS show on the air. We don’t want to dumb it down, we don’t want to cheapen it. We have a great creative team in place, we want to keep everybody doing exactly what it is we’ve done in season 1, so we’re just working out the details.”

Hearing him lay out what they need to do to get a second season makes me wonder how they're going to pull this off, where there's less and less money for stuff like this. It...it really concerns me, knowing the current production climate right now.

He says January 2016 is when he expects them back on air as it is not a matter of IF just simply when.
So thats where my trust lays right now untill some other official news pops up and says otherwise I am already dying for January of 2016 to get here.

They should just run a Kickstarter. They'd have the funds needed in a day with the amount of fans that want it.

I'm hoping the whole season gets a Blu-Ray release. Every interview I hear about the production side of LU talks about how this is treated like a real television show and not just a wrestling show. There are so many potential fans that can't see it because they don't get a network that airs the show. There are so many fans that would buy it because they enjoyed what they've seen. You would think they would put it out to make some money with all the Hollywood people involved in this thing.
