I'm very impressed with the show so far and I look forward to every episode. Even when I miss one, I make time to watch it.

If more wrestling companies presented themselves like this when they got TV deals rather than trying to emulate WWE you'd see smaller companies thrive even more and potentially become bigger.
Now that does not mean they'd compete with the WWE, but Lucha Underground is not trying to do that. Show you can be an alternative and you'll grow

I set aside some time today after I got done with some work to watch Lucha Underground. I watched the episodes so far and there is a lot to like.
The style of the vignettes is really unique and well-produced. They are well done and so different from anything we've seen in wrestling. There are good characters as well. I really like what I've seen from Chavo and Konnan. I am a fan of Ivelisse (I don't understand how WWE and TNA passed on her) and the former Maxine (so great to see her again). I like Sexy Star as well, though I'm not really familiar with her. I'm not a huge fan of the in-ring style, but I do think the matches have been strong.
It's great to see Prince Puma (or Ricochet). I'm trying to keep an open mind about the male-on-female violence. I have a degree of trust in Robert Rodriguez to handle this correctly. His movies often have kick-ass women who can defend themselves.
Anyway, I will keep watching. I don't get El Rey, but I do get Unimas. I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I have had high school and college courses and I can mostly understand the promos and vignettes.

A minute long clip of this week's show, from the Boyle Heights Street Fight between Prince Puma and Big Ryck.

I like it. I love the production values. Vignettes are beautifully shot.

Got like 4 different versions of Unimas (2 locals and 2 national) so cannot wait to see this.

This is currently the best wrestling product on TV, period. So different, so fresh, so appealing to watch. There's just something so enjoyable about it, it's unreal. Spread the word, LUCHA! LUCHA! LUCHA!

Like the show so far hate Ricochets gimmick. Yeah, I don't understand why they don't just let him be himself. They obviously want to make "Prince Puma" the centerpiece of their brand, but Ricochet already had a following as himself.

He can always lose his mask and get the gimmick change the moment Konnan turns on him. EDIT: I'm watching the latest Lucha Underground and I do have to say... A No-DQ match... ...with D-Mob Rycklon the Titanic and his buddies... ....WHO INTERFERE IN THE MATCH FROM JUMP BASICALLY TURNING IT INTO A HANDICAP MATCH? Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating but, c'mon mate. Standards are low and common sense booking ain't so common these days.

The booking is pretty f***ing great to be honest. That Street fight where Ryck and the heels were actually using logic and just slanting the numbers from the get go was incredibly smart. The only problem I had was how long it took for Mundo to come and get Puma's back, if he was at the building why didn't he want to make sure that the guy who had his back from Jump Street wasn't killed in a 3 on 1 attack?

Not sure if Mundo was told that Puma was jumped in the locker room the previous week - he may have thought Puma didn't give a crap about him.

I mean, it wasn't a complete beatdown. Puma was still putting up a good fight against three dudes until they were about to **** Puma's shit up when they put him on that ladder.
...and thinking about it, did Mundo really save Puma?

Well of course, though he attempted it haha Anyone have any theories as to why Pentagon Jr. got involved in the whole Sexy Star/Chavo situation. It's seemingly going to lead to a tag situation but I'm interested as to what Chavo could have offered Pentagon to save his ass getting beats.
