The plan is 39 episodes in Season 1, then a 13 week summer break. Heard good things about Episode 2, but an odd twist involving Chavo. Actually, the twist kinda makes sense when you consider the conversation he had last week. I'm really digging the show. I've been immensely disappointed with televised wrestling lately, and this really is itching the scratch I've had lately. I love lucha libre, but always felt the language barrier took a lot of that out of the tank. Now, with the way they're staging the show, and being in english but still firmly in lucha culture, it's really hooked me. I'm loving what they're doing with the wrestlers, and even Chavo feels watchable again. I give them a lot of credit for setting the show up as much as a drama as a wrestling show, they're making it work, and the production feels top notch, even with the weird overhead cam and the angle at the desk. It does feel a little like Wrestling Society X, but it's really clicking with me. It's also killing me that they've had 2 shows, and already have better shooting production than TNA has ever had. I'm definitely onboard for the show now.

Watching episode two now and this editing is legitimately making me f***ing nauseous. I'm watching for the first time and I thought I was tripping. I'm glad I'm not losing it and it is making me nauseous. I do welcome this addition to wrestling aside from needing to buy some vomit bags.

Really enjoying this so far. The Johnny Mundo/Prince Puma vs Castro and Cisco match was brilliant!

In some good news, Lucha Underground had a big increase in it's ratings. Episode 2 got 29,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo compared to last weeks' 8,000. LU is currently negotiating to have episodes of the show on iTunes, Netflix, and Hulu. An iTunes deal is coming soon, but don't expect it to show up on the other two until 2015.
In even more good news, El Rey is coming to a major satellite provider soon so for those unable to see the show on tv, have hope!

Meanwhile, El Rey posted the opening tag from this past Wednesday.

I really hate the commentary team. Especially when Vampiro makes a big deal out of men wrestling women and how its 2014, and Striker immediately follows it up by mentioning that Havoc had to cheat to beat a woman in a condescending tone. It really undercuts the whole thing. Hugo Savinovich does the commentary with Vampiro on the Spanish broadcast. I wish my Spanish were better so I could give that a shot. Plus the picture quality is better one UniMas since DirecTV doesn't carry El Rey in HD.
Other than that, Chavo's angle, and everything Blue Demon Jr., I've enjoyed it. They've got some very talented wrestlers and I like the presentation. Mundo and Puma are great together.
Also fun fact I somehow had never heard: Hugo Savinovich was married to Wendi Richter. The more you know.

I watched the two episdoes and i love this. I never watched wrestling society x so I have nothing to compare it with. I honestly love everything so far. The chavo/ blue demon match was dope too. I have high hopes for this thing.
dat Catrina tho.

Oh! Can't believe I didn't say this yet but now that all the legal stuff's been cleared up, the Artist Formerly Known as Alberto Del Rio is joining Underground early next year.

On tonight's episode...
*Mascarita Sagrada vs. Mariachi Loco *Mil Muertes vs. Ricky Mandel *Drago vs. Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr.
That main event should be real good... and here's the first minute of it, released by Lucha Underground!

I'd really dig Mil Muertes, if only he didn't have pinstriped tights.

Boy, that is going to make the storyline with Cueto running things really interesting. Hopefully, it end up being a deal where Cueto just assumes Patron will join up with his side because they're both successful, rich men, and then Patron immediately turns on him because he values lucha more than the money. Instant big time feud.

Last week, Konnan said that Prince Puma was introduced to him by "someone that you all know". The backup plan for this is indeed El Patron Alberto, but the apparent intention, if they can get him, is for it to be Rey Mysterio.

If ADR comes to Lucha Underground, I really hope his finisher is either called "Destiny" or "La Rueda de Agresión."

I was naturally figuring he was hinting at Rey,considering their history.

Lucha Underground just became the best place in the US to work, just for the chance you might get licked by Catrina.
