I can tell you what we do not exaggerate. The fact that DX invading Nitro was the turning point in the Monday Night Wars! That never gets enough credit.

But this one is completely subjective opinion rather than exaggeration. It's also a statement which I believe to be true. I didn't hate the AE. But it was the end of the "illusion," if you will. This was the point where people in the business stopped even trying to pretend what they were doing was legitimate. And that took a lot out of my interest. TBF, accessing more and more inside info by the mid '90s changed my mind too, but still. I think this was an evenuality though. I love 70's and 80's wrestling but the world was such a different time then. By the mid 90's it was SO out of the bag that wrestling was fake that it nearly had to be addressed in ring, rightly or wrongly the audience had a different mindset both in wrestling and in general culture. It's like post-modern wrestling, the old main stays had become played out and lame and they were trying new things which natural evolution was for them to tell us that they wernt going to "insult our intelligence" anymore. Their line of think was probably like "People know wrestlings fake? Well then we work them with what they think is real".

For me, it's this tendency for some people to believe that "x was getting pushed and getting over, but they stopped pushing him/he started losing heaps, so he's NEVER going to recover" and the like. I've seen enough wrestling to know for sure that it's never over for someone until they're kicked out of the door. It took Mark Henry 15 F***ING YEARS to finally make it as a top tier guy, so why are we putting the line through someone like Bray Wyatt now, who's only been on the main WWE roster for 15 months? Just because he got owned in a match one week by John Cena?
