And so it begins. Landing in the Top 20 for the third week in a row... 20 Edge vs. Rey Mysterio vs. The Big Show vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kane vs. Wade Barrett - Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship - Elimination Chamber 2011 - February 20, 2011 - 8 Points (Ranked #3 once)OR: The One With Drew McIntyre Going Nuts Yes, this match is primarily remembered by most for McIntyre going absolutely bonkers for five or so minutes (which was probably the last time The Chosen One would ever look credible). But beyond that, this match had a lot to offer. Edge had won the World Championship in a TLC match last December against Kane, Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio and, in what would be his last run with the gold, had to survive another Chamber match to punch his ticket to WrestleMania and a date with destiny against Del Rio, who had rebounded quite nicely by winning the Royal Rumble. Come hell and high water, Edge would survive the Chamber and looked as good as ever heading into WrestleMania 27.

19 Edge vs. Shawn Michaels - Royal Rumble 2005 - 9 Points (Listed #2 once)Edge was a few months away from winning the first Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the time. Shawn Michaels, meanwhile, hadn't started his feud with Mr. McMahon. And so, the two men on Raw with nothing better to do decided to go at it at Royal Rumble. Some people feel this is overshadowed by their match about a month later on Raw (which tied for 25th on the countdown), but it was certainly a good match on its own. The finish came when Edge tried to lock in the Edgecator (remember that?), Shawn tried to roll him up, and Edge rolled through. And so the future Mr. Money in the Bank had an invaluable momentum boost heading into WrestleMania 21.

18 Edge vs. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero - WWE Championship #1 Contender's Match - Friday Night SmackDown!, December 5th, 2002 - 10 Points (Listed #1 once)SmackDown had an issue to resolve. The Blue Brand would have a title shot against The Big Show at the upcoming Armageddon PPV, but they had four people who could have a claim to challenge The Giant. Solution? Throw the four of them into a #1 Contender's Match, of course! Now, this is 2/3 of the SmackDown Six in action, so you're basically guaranteed quality from the get-go. And the four didn't disappoint. In the end, Angle would prevail, and go on to capture the WWE Championship.

17 Edge vs. Kurt Angle - Hair vs. Hair Match - Judgment Day 2002 - 11 Points (Listed #4 once)Edge was the originator of the "You Suck" chants that plagued Angle through the 21st Century. Needless to say, My Olympic Hero wasn't pleased with this, and so declared war. The highlight of this feud was this contest. WWE hyped up the match by showing photoshopped graphics of the two men that showed what they would look like if they were to lose. They got Angle spot on, but Edge looked weird as all hell. And so, I suppose it's for the best that Edge won. In-between the shaving (and the introduction of a less-catchy "You're Bald" chant), Angle and Edge would tear the house down, culminating in a surprise roll-up from Edge. Angle would wear headgear with a ridiculous wig for the proceeding weeks before getting over it.

15 Edge vs. Ric Flair - TLC Match for the WWE Championship - Monday Night Raw, January 16th, 2006 - 12 Points (Listed #6 once)Ric Flair was the Intercontinental Champion, and Edge (having recently cashed in his Money in the Bank contract) was WWE Champion. Flair was happy, but he still wanted that coveted 17th World Championship. And so, deep in the heart of Flair Country and with his family (including future NXT Women's Champion Charlotte) watching at ringside, the Nature Boy would face the Rated-R Superstar in Edge's signature match. Flair came agonizingly close several times, but Edge would eventually send Flair tumbling down and, with Charlotte's screams providing a background, would retain his title.

T-13 Edge and Christian vs. Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz - TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships - Friday Night SmackDown!, May 24th, 2001 - 15 Points (Listed #4 once)Not the best remembered TLC match, but damn was this one good. The Canadian Chris Connection had been Tag Team Champions since defeating the Two Man Power Trip, and would soon face the three teams in the most famous TLC match. A tough test for anyone to overcome, to be sure, but in the grand tradition of Kane winning a TLC match by himself to retain the titles, Benoit and Jericho would overcome the odds to retain their Championships.

T-13 Edge vs. The Undertaker - World Heavyweight Championship Match - WrestleMania 24 - 15 Points (Listed #3 once)My pick for most underrated Streak match. This was a match where something had to give. The Undertaker, of course, was undefeated at WrestleMania. Edge, however, had not only never lost a WrestleMania singles match, but he had never lost to The Undertaker. Ever. Edge was so confident in his victory that he send Chavo Guerrero and The Major Brothers to the back before the match, sure that he wouldn't need them. Well, things didn't turn out that way. While primarily remembered for Charles Robinson doing his best 100 yard dash, this match was, to put it simply, action-packed. Edge kicked out of two Tombstone Piledrivers and escaped the Hell's Gate. Undertaker in turn kicked out of two Spears. Edge was lining up for a third, but as he hit it, The Deadman somehow countered into Hell's Gate! With nowhere left to go, Edge tapped out, Undertaker won the World Championship, and the pyro workers set off a display that would lead to a few lawsuits when all was said and done. (NOTE: Survivor's on soon, so I'll be taking a break. Most if not all of the remaining matches will be listed tonight, or otherwise on Thursday.)

1. Edge vs. Angle vs. Benoit vs. Guerrero- Smackdown 12/5/02 (18) 2. 3. 4. Smackdown TLC 5/24/01 (13) 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
Sucks that I was the only voter for the Smackdown 4 way. It was my all time favorite Smackdown match for almost a year to the day. Edge played the gutsiest babyface to ever gut one out.
The Smackdown TLC is underrated too. That one made Benoit look like a total hero.

T-11 Edge vs. John Cena - Last Man Standing Match for the World Heavyweight Championship - Backlash 2009 - 18 Points (Listed #1 once)As I said when this match came up in the Cena countdown, you can say what you want about The Champ, but you can't deny the absolutely ridiculous stuff he's done in his career. Case in point, the picture above. Cena won the World Championship at WrestleMania 25 by pinning The Big Show. Edge felt that since he had never been pinned for the title, he was entitled to a rematch, which he received...in a match that Cena rarely, if ever, loses in. The two men went to war, but it would take an appearance from Big Show and a Chokeslam through a spotlight to put Cena down for ten. Edge regained the World Championship, and Cena decamped to Monday Nights to feud with Randy Orton, but that's a story for another time.

T-11 Edge, Mick Foley and Lita vs. Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk and Beulah McGillicutty - Hardcore Six-Man Tag Team Match - ECW One Night Stand 2006 - 18 Points (Listed #3 once)Say it ain't so! Edge and Mick Foley putting their differences aside to terrorize ECW was particularly jarring, given their famous Hardcore Match at WrestleMania 22. But work together they did, drawing the ire of two hardcore legends, Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk. Soon after their initial confrontations, the two sides would agree to face in a Hardcore Tag Match at One Night Stand. But as the match was about to being, none other than Tommy Dreamer's summer-camp sweetheart Beulah McGillicutty would appear and attack Lita, changing the match to a Six Man on the fly. And it certainly lived up to it's Hardcore billing. High(low?)lights included The Funker getting turned into a pincushion after taking a nasty spill onto a barbed-wire board. In the end, Edge would score the win for his team with a pinfall (pictured above) that had never been seen before, and thankfully hasn't been seen since.

10 Edge vs. Christian vs. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Kane vs. Shelton Benjamin - Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Winner gets a guaranteed championship match) - WrestleMania 21 - 22 Points (Listed #5 once)Chris Jericho appeared on Raw one week with an intriguing proposition. Six of Monday Night's best and brightest would face off in a free-for-all at WrestleMania with a title opportunity on the line. Well, six Raw superstars and a bunch of steel ladders, but that's besides the point. The first ever Money in the Bank Match arguably exceeded expectations. Sure, the spots weren't as big as they are now (I'd say the biggest spot was Christian bailing out onto Tomko outside), but for sheer edge-of-your-seat excitement, you can't go wrong with Money in the Bank I. After the usual elimination spots, it came down to Benoit and Edge. Benoit had his fingertips on the case, but as if from thin air, Edge materialized with a steel chair to Chris's arm, sending The Crippler falling from his ladder and allowing Edge to win the coveted briefcase.

9 Edge vs. John Cena - TLC Match for the WWE Championship - Unforgiven 2006 - 27 Points (Ranked #3 once)Edge seemed to have John Cena's number in 2006. Not only did he make Cena the victim of the first ever Money in the Bank cash-in, not only did he win the WWE Championship from him after WrestleMania, he had the audacity to take off Cena's custom-made spinner plate and replace it with a Rated-R plate...that also spun. The Champ demanded a rematch, and got one. Now Edge, in theory, had this one in the bag. It was a match he had pioneered (TLC) and had never lost in, and as if he needed another advantage, Edge was defending in front of a hometown crowd, as Unforgiven came live from Toronto, Ontario. But alas, our hero forgot the Second Law of Cena: if it is Cena's first match in a given scenario (WrestleMania, Money in the Bank, etc.), he will win. And win John did. In the build-up to this match, Cena threw Edge into the Long Island Sound. Evidently, The Champ came to the conclusion that large bodies of water weren't the only things he enjoyed throwing Edge into, as he would seal the win with a thunderous F-U off a ladder and through a pile of tables. (That'll be all for tonight. The countdown will finish tomorrow.)
