T-7 Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero - No Disqualification Match - Friday Night SmackDown!, September 26th, 2002 - 28 Points (Listed #3 once)At SummerSlam earlier that year, Edge prevailed over Latino Heat by a nose. Of course, this wasn't the end of the two men's feud, as exemplified in this match, frequently cited as one of SmackDown's best. The No-DQ stipulation only ramped up the intensity of the encounters. Notable moments in the match included a tope to Edge while he was sandwiched between two ladders, and an electric chair drop from off the top of a ladder. In the end, Edge stood tall once again, hitting the Edgecution DDT off the top of a ladder to put Guerrero away.

T-7 Edge vs. The Undertaker - Hell in a Cell Match - SummerSlam 2008 - 28 Points (Listed #2 once)Edge, as previously mentioned, had fallen to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 24, thus losing the World Championship. However, through his relationship with SmackDown GM Vickie Guerrero, he was eventually able to get the Deadman suspended indefinitely while the two planned their wedding. Of course, Edge went looking for love in the wrong places, and learned the hard way that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Guerrero not only reinstated Undertaker, but booked this match for SummerSlam. Needless to say, things didn't end well for the Ultimate Opportunist. Despite both giving and taking Spears and going out of the cell, Undertaker prevailed after a Tombstone Piledriver. After the match, Undertaker chokeslammed Edge through the ring "straight to hell", which would be the last anybody would see of Edge for about a month.

6 Edge vs. Mick Foley - Hardcore Match - WrestleMania 22 - 37 Points (Listed #2 twice)They call this one the greatest Hardcore Match in WrestleMania history. I'd call that an overly-narrow qualifier, but are they wrong? Edge had drawn the ire of the Hardcore Legend, and eventually decided that he would shut Foley up by beating him at his own game at the grandest stage of them all. In a creative spot, Mick wore barbed wire underneath his trademark flannel and sweatshirt, so when Edge speared him the first time, he ended up doing more damage to himself. More adventures with the wire included Lita being on the wrong end of a wire-covered Mr. Socko. Edge would retaliate with the baseball bat he brought to the ring with him, and would give Foley a few more Spears, none of which seemed to have much of an effect. In the end, Foley proved to be his own undoing. He would coat a table in lighter fluid, and, while distracted, Edge would attack. Lita would light the table on fire, and within a few moments, Edge would take Mick for a ride through the fire. Finally, and thankfully, Edge put Foley away once and for all. (Note: Call the rest of this countdown Teddy Long's favorite dream, because it's straight up tag team matches from here on out.)

T-4 Edge and Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit - WWE Tag Team Championship - No Mercy 2002 - 40 Points (Listed #2 three times)Here it is, once again. Some people call this WWE's best Tag Team match ever. After seeing this match, one would be hard-pressed to find a better one. Stephanie McMahon, SmackDown's general manager, lost the World Tag Team Champions to the Draft. So she would do the only logical thing and establish a new set of Tag Team Championships for SmackDown. And how better to crown the inaugural champs than with a big tournament? Angle and Benoit were at each other's throats, but were forced to work together upon pain of suspension and loss of salary if they were to attack each other. Meanwhile, Edge and Mysterio almost-immediately gelled over the course of the tournament, thus setting up this final. The two teams would put on an absolute clinic, marking a fantastic first chapter in the history of the WWE Tag Team Championships. In the end, Edge would be forced to tap out to the Ankle Lock, thus giving the odd couple pair the Championships.

T-4 Edge and Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz - Triangle Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships - WrestleMania 2000 - 40 Points (Listed #2 twice)The first encounter between three of the greatest tag teams WWE has ever known lived up to all expectations. The Dudley Boyz had been running with the belts for some time when both the Hardyz and E&C would rise to challenge them in the no-DQ environment of a Triangle Ladder Match. There were several great moments in this match. Edge and Christian receiving consecutive 3-Ds through tables. The Dudley'z seemingly putting the Hardyz out in a similar fashion before Jeff would retaliate by hitting a Swanton on Bubba through a table. And of course, the finish. Matt was just moments away from pulling the belts down, but Edge and Christian would shove him off a ladder and through a table. Soon after, the two would pull the belts down and claim their first Tag Team Championships.

3 Edge and Christian vs. The New Brood (Matt and Jeff Hardy) - Terri Invitational Tournament Final - Ladder Match - No Mercy 1999 - 43 Points (Listed #3 once)The finals of the unfortunately-acronymed T.I.T. promised the reward of Terri Runnels's managerial services (evidently highly sought after), as well as $100,000 (hung above the ring) to the winning team. Essentially, this is to tag team ladder matches what Razor Ramon/Shawn Michaels was to regular ladder matches. Gangrel would attempt to help his new charges beat his old ones, but he was caught and ejected. Several familiar spots would appear over the course of the match, for instance, the seesaw spot which would eventually mess Joey Mercury's face up. At the conclusion, Matt and Christian fell, but Jeff managed to jump to Edge's ladder to continue the fight. After a brief skirmish, Jeff would send Edge tumbling, grab the bag of money, and win Terri's services.

And so we've come to our final two. Separated by 35 points, these two matches are in fact one match, just held several months apart. One was the first of it's kind. A brave new world for the wrestling world to enter. The second is considered the gold standard of that match type. The best match on an absurdly-stacked show and one of the greatest tag team matches of all time. Without further ado, clocking in at #2... 2 Edge and Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz - TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships - SummerSlam 2000 - 52 Points (Listed #1 once)The Dudleys were masters of tables, E&C chairs, the Hardys ladders. So someone got the inspired idea to put the three in one match so they could use them to their heart's content without the fear of DQ. Tables and ladders and chairs, oh my! If you think that's funny or clever, imagine hearing that line 100 or so times on commentary over the buildup to this match. This featured several now-trademark spots: Jeff putting himself through a table because he's an idiot somebody moved out of the way. Somebody (Bubba in this case) taking an absurd fall through a stack of tables. Eventually, Jeff was left dangling from the belts (once again), and things ended in about the same way. Christian would use a ladder as a giant fly-swatter to knock Hardy out of the sky, and would soon claim the belts.

1 Edge and Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz - TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships - WrestleMania X-Seven - 85 Points (Listed #1 seven times)The WWE must have been of the mind that if it worked the first time, it'll work the second. And unlike other instances (see Orton vs. Cena), they turned out to be right, and even gave this match a subtitle of sorts: TLC II. This match, of course, is known for Edge's spear on Jeff, Lita jerking Edge off...the ladder (nice save JR), and the involvement of Lita, Spike Dudley and Rhyno (respectively) for The Hardys, The Dudleys and E&C. In the end, it was Rhyno's presence that would prove the difference. Bubba and Matt would start climbing a ladder soon after that Spear, but the War Machine would push the ladder over and send the two through a stack of four tables. Soon after, he would boost Christian to the top of the ladder, and the duo that reeked of awesomeness once again reigned over WWE's tag team division.

This is the part where I'd give you a hint for the next countdown, but given it starts tomorrow, I think you can wait 24 hours. Keep in mind that after next week, I'll be opening up topics to a vote.
