To this day the greatest duo in wrestling. Such chemistry, never missed a beat it was like magic. I still miss them both today and I've seen an event I don't think wouldn't be improved by these two. A 10/10 every time.

Best duo, followed by Tony Schiavone & Dusty Rhodes IMO.

The best. They could make a match between two jobbers interesting.

The best. They could make a match between two jobbers interesting. They were pretty much the only reason jobber squash matches were worth watching.

You'll never find better chemistry. They could release just the talking segments from Prime Time on DVD and I'd buy it immediately.

One of the best no doubt. Monsoon has his off days though but Bobby the Brain was so quick and so into his character that the duo works wonderfully. That said I'm more of a Moonsoon/Ventura man myself. Another great one, which had it stuck around longer could hav been one of the all time best duos.

Still found a lot to love about Heyman as he still put over the WWE guys and said what a great aquisition they would make in the Alliance. Heyman in ECW said he always booked people to the strengths. So Tommy Dreamer isn't the strongest guy ever, well play up his never-say-die attitude. Rey Mysterio isn't the biggest guy, play up his speed and tenacity. I feel he did the same on commentary and really put over the wrestlers every chance he got. The same can not be said of today. It felt like such a backwards step when they brought back Lawler. Edit: Lastly at Wrestlemania X-7 Heyman said two of my favourite quotes ever. "The TLC match is one of the most dangerous matches you will ever, ever see" and then about the title match "It's the match both men need to win and neither man can afford to lose." That one line had me more pumped up for the match than even the My Way video package did.

Agree, and their work together in WCW is seldom mentioned, but it was very good as well.

Strictly going on their commentating/announcing, Gorilla and Bobby were horrible. Gorilla made stuff up, showed massive amounts of ignorance (both in the storylines and the English language) and Bobby was mostly concerned about getting jokes over. They were terrible at building up feuds, angles and wrestlers.
....That said? They were absolutely the most entertaining team in the business and were a tremendous comedy team.

I thought Monsoon and Heenan were a great commentary team. They had great chemistry and Monsoon was the perfect "straight man" for Heenan's antics. Their banter made even the most boring match more interesting.

So you're telling me people WEREN'T literally hanging from the rafters? This is like a blow to the external occipital protuberance. (Too obvious a joke? Have we gone to that well one too many times?)

I agree with Madison, They were entertaining in their banter/Jokes but couldn't sell a feud very well My fave was Monsoon/Ventura, Both funny and good feud sellers (Plus I loved when Ventura made a good point whenever a Face did something wrong) www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0WhkYgQxvg

No doubt they were a great duo. Their best stuff was studio stuff where they played off each other on camera.

I was actually noticing the other day while watching Halloween Havoc '95 that Bobby, in particular, was a lot better "wrestling announcer" when he was not so concerned with spitting out one-liners. He seemed invested in the feuds and and much more passionate about what was going on in the match. Same for Gorrilla when he was working with Ventura. But Gorilla and Bobby together were most assuredly an entertaining duo even if they were mainly putting themselves over.

The only time Heenan was serious was when putting over 'Taker.

Was watching Survivor Series '93 last night during the Harts vs. HBK/Knights match. Commentators are Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan and Ray Combs. Stu hart is at ringside managing his sons while Helen is on the front row.
Heenan: "Did you hear, Stu just yelled at Helen! He said 'Helen, I'm damp!"
McMahon: "Bobby Heenan, you are a bad person."
Combs: "You better stop that Bobby or he's gonna come over here."
Heenan: "Well, that will take 2 hours and we'll be off the air."
I lol'd.
