Is it fair to say that, factoring in critical acclaim and public opinion, awards and sales, that Foo Fighters is the preeminent rock band these days?

Is it fair to say that, factoring in critical acclaim and public opinion, awards and sales, that Foo Fighters is the preeminent rock band these days? I could dig it. The only band close is Queens of the Stone Age and while they get the critical acclaim, I don't think they're anywhere remotely as close to being commercially successful. I'd say Nine Inch Nails are in the same boat.

Followed by Pearl Jam and Green Day. But the pop scene would like you to believe its bands like Coldplay, Arcade Fire, and Imagine Dragons

Similarly, I don't think many people if any see Arcade Fire as a pop band. I'd go as far to say that this is the first time I've ever read them mentioned as such. The day that Arcade Fire only include 3 minute accessible pop jingles on their albums, I'll concur.

Very few of the people I know have even heard the name Arcade Fire, let alone listened to much of their music. Could just be I need new friends.
