Thanks to a rift in the space-time continuum, all Randy Orton matches actually last an average of 11.5 hours. 11.25 hours of it are usually chinlocks

I've seen the Inoki-Saito island death match. Lots of headlocks in the long grass and tiki torches. The way it starts, with the setting and aerial shots, it looks impressive but it goes on and on and on...and on and on and on. By the end (far before the end, really) I was sick of the sight of the pair of them. So what's the context/story of the island death match?

The island was the site of a famous (and rather mythical and vague) samurai duel hundreds of years ago. Inoki and Saito were feuding and decided to settle things there. It's an interesting setting and idea, but when they decided to go 2 hours + it really makes it boring.
Whenever I hear of historical bouts in wrestling or boxing or whatever that went several hours or longer, it's what I often think it would actually be like - not two titans trading blows toe-to-toe for hours, but lots of laying around panting for breath and grabbing rest holds in between small bursts of activity.
