Caught this today and I think this film is an early contender for the most fun I'll have at the movie theater all year long.
Every little thing clicked together in terms of music, pacing, style and acting. (It's always good to see actors actually look like they're enjoying their roles.) The only minor nitpick was the story was a little too by the numbers at times especially in the first half, but it made it up for that with some genuine surprising moments in the third act.

Saw it again, still awesome.
I have a request for Hollywood, make an action movie starring Liam Neeson and Colin Firth. Just have them kill bad guys dead for 2 hours, it would be awesome.

Watched it for the second time tonight and it's still just as fun the second time around.
The church scene is one of the most exciting, fun, and epic parts of the film in my opinion. Everything about it sends your adrenaline through the roof when you watch Colin Firth be a complete badass.

Is Colin Firth the new Liam Neeson?
What is with the British Isles producing these older badass action stars?

Saw it tonight, so goddamn fun. Favourite scene was the church fight with Free Bird playing, although the ending with Pomp and Circumstance was awesome as well. Seriously, who knew Colin Firth could be such a badass?
Taron Egerton is going to be a star in the making by the way, as well as Sophie Cookson. Really impressed with the two of them. Everyone involved in the movie just killed it.
I'm so glad Matthew Vaughn decided to do this movie instead of Days of Future Past, because this was quite possibly his best film so far which is saying something considering he's directed films like Layer Cake, Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class.

it's a Mark Millar book. I'll pass. I completely understand where you are coming from as I detest his work as well, yet the film versions are different in a good way and generally don't treat their audience like shit (which was kind of his trademark in his comics). Wanted is still arse though.

Wanted is still arse though. I totally agree. Both Kick-Ass films were much less mean spirited compared to the comic books they were based on.

I see the films as being the kind of comics Miller would write if editorial higher-ups were reining him in

I was hesitant as well after learning it was a Millar thing. The guy comes up with amazing concepts, but writes them will all the talent of a drunken 13 year old.

It's now passed the $200 million mark worldwide against a budget of $80 million, not too bad at all. I imagine the sequel will happen now and.. warning : Massive Spoiler ahead, do not click the tag if you haven't seen the film, you have been warned. {Spoiler}Apparently Colin Firth is keen to come back for the sequel which considering what happens to his character, is surprising.
