I've been hearing a lot of good wom about this movie.
Reminds me of what happened with John Wick last year. The trailer made it look dumb as shit, but the actual film was much better than the previews let on.
Kingsman's trailer makes it look stupid as all get out, but I've heard nothing but good stuff about it.

Glad to see it's doing relatively well. I was afraid it was going to kinda get lost in the shuffle; fun flick that deserves a sequel.

My only concern about a sequel is that Matthew Vaughn has a bit of a name for initially being pencilled in to direct sequels to his films, only to end up not directing them for whatever reason. It can work as Days of Future Past was really good but Kick Ass 2 wasn't half as good as the first.

That's true. I saw Kick Ass 2 the one time, and never really need to watch it again.

It was alright. {Spoiler}I still couldn't get why couldn't they have just blown up everyone's head up sooner? Like that was such a bad Deus Ex Machina moment of oh no the hero is cornered wait we can blow up their heads up okay dokie two seconds later heads blow up. Also why couldn't Mark Strong's character leave the plane to help the kid out? Especially after everyones head was blown up and he's in a race against time while fighting the deadliest henchman in the movie? Also why isn't there lots of Kingsmen? But the action was good. It seems like the trend they are going try to set is sped up action done in one take in a over the shoulder third person video game camera angle. Also I love it when Samuel Jackson plays villains. Especially when he tries something new. Hammy old man tech millennial billionaire is just awesome

It's now passed the $200 million mark worldwide against a budget of $80 million, not too bad at all. I imagine the sequel will happen now and.. warning : Massive Spoiler ahead, do not click the tag if you haven't seen the film, you have been warned. Apparently Colin Firth is keen to come back for the sequel which considering what happens to his character, is surprising. I guess they could make it work in some over the top way. But yeah, it'd have to be so ridiculously stupid that it'd make the audience get a huge kick out of it in the process.

Finally just saw this. Really enjoyed it.
It was better than the book for me, as the book was typical Miller violence and heavy handed morality. This played it more casual and comedy.

Bumping this up because it came out on Blu/DVD on Tuesday.
If you haven't picked it up yet, do it.

It's a very fun film and is right now #2 on my favorite movies of the year.

I got the blu on Monday but haven't watched it again yet. I hope they've fixed that bit with the U.S. Date format. It makes zero sense to have it in there.

Finally saw it. Damn, that was great, and a really satisfying film. Between that and Winter Soldier, it kinda feels nice to know people can make spy thrillers still that are genuinely good. (Not a knock at the current Bond films, just anything not named them has been all over the place)

I like that I used to bang on about this film when the trailers came out and got very few replies, yet now the majority of people are loving this film and It made $400 million at the Box Office. I don't follow trends, I set them! (Although, I really am pleased to see it doing so well).

For me, it was kind of one I was vaguely aware of,then saw it in theaters on a matinee not really expecting much; and was just pleasantly surprised.
I think that happened for a lot of people, and the word of mouth.

I had time to kill after seeing Home so I caught a showing of it and I was blown away. Really happy to hear it's getting a sequel.

For me when I first saw the trailer I was thinking that it could be good, but I wasn't ecstatic for it. The more spots I saw for it, the more I wanted to see it.

I was also pleasantly surprised by it, wound up watching it on my flight back from Europe. Reminded me a lot of a practically forgotten early 90's flick with a very vaguely similar idea, "If Looks Could Kill", but I think this nailed it better. It actually took til my second watch to realize just how dark humored it actually was.
Thought about looking up the comic but it honestly sounds like the film was a lot smarter and funnier.

I think Matthew Vaughn as quietly climed up the list of must watch directors for me, I've at the very least enjoyed each and every one of his films.

The wife and I noticed some similarities between this movie and the American Dad episode Tearjerker.
