Vaughn has brought three non-traditional comic-based properties to the screen now and nailed it every time.

It's now passed the $200 million mark worldwide against a budget of $80 million, not too bad at all. I imagine the sequel will happen now and.. warning : Massive Spoiler ahead, do not click the tag if you haven't seen the film, you have been warned. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Apparently Colin Firth is keen to come back for the sequel which considering what happens to his character, is surprising. I guess they could make it work in some over the top way. But yeah, it'd have to be so ridiculously stupid that it'd make the audience get a huge kick out of it in the process. It does not have to be that over the top. Early in the first act they can have a scene where Lancelot and Eggsy (as the new Galahad) return from a mission stopping a warlord from exploiting the power vacuum created by Valentine's plot in the first movie (this mission could be shown in the pre-credit scene). Merlin greets them and says that the other Kingsmen were waiting on them to vote on a new Arthur, and then introduces them to the candidate that he is putting forward. In wheels Harry in a wheelchair. Eggsy: Harry! You're alive??!! Harry: Yes. Let that be a lesson to you. If you are shooting someone in the head, don't turn away when you pull the trigger. It affects your aim. Still, I expect that I might be due for some serious therapy before I am mobile again. I doubt I can ever be suitable for field work again. Fortunately, I have you able-bodied young people to do that for me.

Reviving this because I just watched this on Netflix. It was the most fun I've had watching a movie in a very long time.

I kind of hope it runs and runs. That way we get a gritty, serious, thriller based Bond (The current Daniel Craig movies) that are closer to the days of Connery; whilst also getting an OTT, knowingly campy but unbelievably fun Bond (The Kinsman series) that are closer to the best days of The Roger Moore era.

I love that this thread keeps getting bumped because people just saw the movie for the first time, and had to post about how awesome it was.

I love that this thread keeps getting bumped because people just saw the movie for the first time, and had to post about how awesome it was. It's weird, it made a buttload of money at the box office yet it still has that "cult hit" appeal. "Kill that motherf***er! He killed all our friends!"

It is in Canada yeah thanks for ruining my Friday night ! how does Canada have better movie option than the US ? The US has Canada beat in terms of TV Shows and documentaries and classic movies. But dear God there is huge load of crap in recent movies and there is nothing ever recent as well.
