Scrubs Season 9 was so bad I don't acknowledge that it existed. You just acknowledged it. Also, I highly disagree. Season 9 was meant to be a spin off, but the network insisted they don't change the title. As a spinoff it works, and it's only real weakness is the over reliance on the cast of the original series when most of them had perfect closure in season 8. It was still better than most TV shows though. And Dookmarriot, how were you able to visit the future and see the final season of Community? How many original cast members are left at the end?

Even in the context of a spinoff, it didn't work. It felt very tired. The new characters were quite frankly terrible. And it made no sense for the original characters that were there to be there.
It was complete garbage. It being made Season 9 because of network fiat is the cherry on top of the shit sundae.

Community and The Office. Community isn't over, though. And I thought season 5 was pretty fantastic, personally.

All of them except J.D. still work at Sacred Heart so why would they all just suddenly disappear?

I love The Office but I tapped out after watching the first two episodes of the final season. Still haven't seen the rest of the final season or finale. Also the final season of The Wire was really weak compared to the rest of the series

Hmmm, lets see. Battlestar Galactica, Scrubs, The Office (US), Buffy, Heroes, Lost, How I met your Mother. You Americans are not very good at closure, are you ?

Community and The Office. In my world, The Office ended when Pam hugged Michael at the airport. Such a fantastic finale to the show, and it's a shame they felt the need to bleed another season and a half out of it.

Besides the "Laverne, Where's Shirley?" last season (am I the only one who thinks this, or did everyone suppress memories of them ever trying to do "LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY" without Shirley?)...it's a shame that Gene Rayburn's version of Match Game never got a proper sendoff. I think they didn't know they were being cancelled both on CBS and in syndication. Can you imagine how crazy things would be if they knew they were doing a finale?

You know how Starrcade 97 apologist like to say "why should they have ended the nWo then? It was still making money."? That mindset is very popular among American television producers.

Coupling. Removed the one entertaining guy in the cast (Jeff) and replaced him with a biphobic, misogynistic sci-fi obsessed git called Oliver, and for once, Steven Moffat's self-insert character didn't seem the one who was most like him.

Twin Peaks is a great show that takes a huge dive about halfway through it's second season and gets almost unwatchable almost instantly.

Surprisingly enough, 7th Heaven. They had their last season, everything peaked and ended... then they went on to do another season which tanked. I was gonna say this one too. I remember one scene where the blonde daughter started singing to her baby. It was totally out of the blue and something that they'd never done before. It was shot like a music video so maybe she and the producers were trying to launch her next career. But it was a godawful song too. Me an my wife looked at each other and were like, "whaaaaa?". I thought the last season of Seinfeld was terrible.

It was still better than most TV shows though. I agree. That was the way I watched the show and found it enjoyable enough. The problem was that since it was not made a spinoff by ABC Studios, its ratings did not justify the advertising rates and that led to the death of the show.

Prison Break's final season was only 24 or so episodes but felt like 240. Just dreadful.
Lost. Enough said.

Friends season 10 is unwatchable.

Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
I wasn't a big fan of the last season of ER either. It was watchable but they were more interested in bringing in former characters every episode rather than continuing with the then-cast who built themselves up really well after the departure of some of the bigger cast members one after the other in the later seasons.

The only episode I'll go out of my way to see from that season is the Fesitvus one. Jerry was very smart in deciding to end it then.

The whole season was like a bad parody of the rest of the series.

Friends and Scrubs immediately come to mind.
Doesn't really count but the last few years of X-Play were really bad, as was the last season of Attack of the Show.
