I always thought Booker T/Christian had awful matches and HBK/Kane,Orton/Kane were awkward as hell.

Undertaker & Stone Cold is probably the highest profile pairing who didn't gel well together. Two of the top stars but some of their matches were so slow, plodding and tough to watch.

The big problem there was that Austin had the neck problem so he couldn't even take a Tombstone, and UT hadn't yet developed all of his other finishers (Last Ride, Hell's Gate, etc.). So what was he trying to build to?
Speaking of Austin, he and Jericho just were bleh together. Austin and Benoit had some great matches but Austin and Jericho? Not really.
Rock and Undertaker was another pairing that didn't yield much of note, but they never quite got that big stage epic PPV encounter.

Orton and Cena.
On paper they're two of the best of their generation but their matches have never been spectacular against eachother. I liked their Iron Man Match but everything else is like "I guess it was alright." at best.

Orton and Cena. On paper they're two of the best of their generation but their matches have never been spectacular against eachother. I liked their Iron Man Match but everything else is like "I guess it was alright." at best. Honestly the one match of theirs I give a pass to is the I Quit match. Yeah, it's pretty one-sided and such, but there was at least a certain logic to a lot of it (though Orton waking him up when he passed out was stupid given he wasn't the one who had to win the match), and even the ending made sense because with the way Cena had the STF one using the handcuffs, there was no earthly way Orton could possibly escape that on his own. The Iron Man match though... It's a gimmick I hate in the first place, but the match is so lacking in logic on so many levels. The big things - why on earth would Orton tap one second before the bell (and he had to have known it was coming given the crowd was chanting the numbers), the whole attempted murder thing, and that given the rules of the match and Orton's cowardly heel character it made absolutely no sense that he didn't haul ass out of the building the second he got ahead in points.

Lesnar and Goldberg.
Granted, they only had one match, and both of them were on their way outs, but sheesh.

CM Punk and Elijah Burke had some of the shittiest matches I've ever seen back in '07.

CM Punk and Elijah Burke had some of the shittiest matches I've ever seen back in '07. Oh my. That has to be the top of the list. I remember one match where the two of them were on completely different pages on what spot to do next and just fumbled around for a solid 5 minutes.

I think I've only seen the Sakatoon title match and Bret's WCW debut at Souled Out, but Flair and Bret somehow didn't mesh as well as you'd have thought.

Punk and Miz.
We've seen Miz have good matches with Bryan, Cena, Orton, Ziggler, Cesaro, etc. so we know he can work when put in the ring with guys who are better than him. But my word were all of their matches awful.

I'd like to be proven wrong on this, but for as many times as it's happened, I can't think of a single Batista-Kane match I've ever remotely enjoyed. It's baffling because for two big guys, their styles should be more compatible and they have different styles and seem like their movesets would make for some interesting action. Alas, I've never seen them get it together.

I don't think I've ever seen a Orton vs. Sheamus match that was anything more than really boring.

Rock and Undertaker was another pairing that didn't yield much of note, but they never quite got that big stage epic PPV encounter. Well, they did have a match for the WWF Title at King Of The Ring 1999, which is my favorite bad match. I realize bad matches are going to happen, but that's the way to do it: spectacularly.

Del Rio & Swagger had like a million matches in 2013 and all of them were just a big blur of awkward spots and bad selling.
