According to Russo, take it for what it's worth, he said that the day Pillman died, Owen's way of coping was wrestling. Didn't Danny Doring worked a tight schedule after his mom died? I think Billy Jack Haynes and Shane Douglas did it too, it's just their say of coping

Sometimes the grief doesn't even hit immediately. I've had close relatives die and the grief didn't even hit me until after the funeral. Literally, they would die one day and I would come to work the next. I didn't even tell anyone they died. My co-workers would learn about it through the newspaper obituaries or when I show up for work in a suit and say that I will be leaving early for a funeral. The Harts don't strike me as a family that sat around crying and hugging each other all day, and I can relate to that because my family isn't either. We just keep moving forward and grieve privately, in our own way. People have looked at me strangely because I don't announce family tragedies or talk about them... I just don't want people trying to cheer me up and offer encouraging words. I prefer to be left alone.

So brets brother dies the night before survivor series 90 why didn't Bret go home? He wasn't main eventing, they couldn't get a replacement? Its disturbing that he thought his match was more important than his family... He wouldn't have done his OWN children any favours by going home.

Dean looked a lot like Bret, sort of ruggedly handsome His wiki page says that he passed at the Hart family compound, so it does look like his death was expected and maybe they tried to mentally prepare for it Interesting it also says that Diana Hart claims that none of the family were even tested as compatible donors...nor was it ever talked about (which I seriously doubt since the doctors likely brought this up many times)

She does, but Bret mentions something similar in his book. I don't know about them refusing to be tested, but he says that surgery would have ended his career and he asked Dean, but he told him and the rest of the brothers that they should take care of their children first. He had issues with Smith and Bruce who were substitute teachers and wrestling careers were done.

Sorry OP but I take offense to this. Couple of months ago my grandma passed away the day before I started a new job and I went to work the following day because I'm not some kind of psychopath. I did it to take time my mind off it, to make some money because I took a work break, and because I know she would of wanted me to.

Pretty ironic, brets brother dies and who does he step in the ring with the next night, making his debut.... Bret points that out in his book.

I remember after Bret got pinned at SS 90, reading his lips he blurted out "f***!"
who did he wrestle the next night? Honestly I have no clue.

So Bret, Owen, Keith, and Bruce were all out.

Its disturbing that he thought his match was more important than his family... Disturbing, perhaps. Made up? Definitely.

I never heard Hart house referred to as that, but it certainly fits (mansion on a big swath of land with a coach house and all that). Kind of weird that this place had a basement called "The Dungeon" where Stu stretched people and a porch that occasionally housed a wrestling grizzly bear named Ted, yet the phrasing "Hart family compound" is what struck me as odd.

Self Destruction of Bret Hart
Vince: "He told me that his brother had died but I knew for a fact that he hadn't spoken to his brother in years and didn't have any time for him...."

Probably a good idea not to judge the actions of others when someone close to them dies until you go through it yourself.
