It was just stupid on so many levels. But more than anything else, it was that I've watched fans legit jump the stands my whole life and often get the crap beat of them. I just saw it happen on an old WCW show. But this time, the heel was completely despicable for going after the guy going in into the ring.

I'm not terribly surprised anymore that WWE doesn't know what makes characters likable/unlikable. I guess from here on out, anybody in a service uniform has a free pass to get in the ring.

I fail to see what Rusev is doing wrong. He has national pride and he gloats about it. What is wrong with tha, especially if you back it up?
Besides, this is WORLD Wrestling Entertainment...so why is it so adament about being the American brand?
The US pride gimmick is so old and unappealing, that I find myself cheering against the grain most of the time because the heel is usually doing nothing dramatic enough to warrant my ire. He's not of any risk to me or my well being as an American, so why should I hate him?

If someone is that shockingly stupid to think they'd be allowed to, they'd probably be spending most of their time in military prison, anyway. "Why'd you climb onto a bomb with a cowboy hat?" "Movies told me it was okay!"

He wasn't trying to attack Rusev, he was trying to get away from that dude grabbing his junk. Good call

There are some morons out there. The whining about the soldier segment on facebook from losers who have decided to get offended by it is pathetic. People saying they're not watching WWE again, saying it was offensive, disrespectful, bad taste and other nonsense. No wonder WWE doesn't take risks anymore. People are so bloody easily offended nowadays. That is one of the reasons why Twitter and Facebook shouldn't exist, it gives an excuse for people to be whiny bitches.

If WWE wanted to get Rusev some legit heel heat, then do the whole "show the troops in the audience thing" and then have Rusev attack a local indy guy dressed as a soldier backstage. Don't have the guy storm the ring. Military or not, that's not a "face" move.

Rusev just turned face in my eyes.
A face I couldn't care less about, but a face nonetheless.

Rusev just turned face in my eyes. A face I couldn't care less about, but a face nonetheless. He did that for me last week, when he stood defiantly against the two biggest, strongest guys on the roster instead of begging off or running away.

I don't know what I dislike most; goofy, hur hur dis is funny Big Show or So Choked With Rage and Emotion I Can't Speak Big Show, and we got them both in one segment.

I know the US is still their biggest fan base, but I can't believe that this nonsense plays well anywhere else in the world. It barely plays well in most of the US.

First of all, as a foreigner I had special feeling towards american pride, and the military., they are particularly negative to be honest.
That being said, I cant get offended with this angle, is very cheesy in lots of ways, and the crowd is getting into it because even though the WWE is an international company, their core business is still based in the United States, and I appreciate when the crowd is enjoying and angle, I knwo that some smarks are very dismissive towards casual fans, thinking that are dumb marks who cant separate reality, but they are not that stupid to start jumping barricades adter watching one fake soldier doing an obviously staged spot.
Again, I know that the writing is very partial between americans and russians, but honestly, thats how it is in real life, north americans had a vision of their country which is enterily different on how the rest of the world watch them, but while watching this angle i am not thhinking on how incorrect is the writing with the obvious favoritsm towards te united states, Im thinking more in the parody of AMERICA f*** YEAH

Next week I'd have Lana say "It typical of American soldier, to go charging into battle without plan" i was thinking along the lines of "Look at your puny american soldier, cowering and shaking in fear at the sight of Rusev. And then Rusev destroyed your solider like he has done to all your heroes with one little tap of Rusev's big toe, because Rusev would not want to dirty all of his foot by using more of it than one little toe. After all he did not need to as you could see" <smiles> also liked how they went on for about ten minutes before cole finally said kinda offhandedly "by the way wwe universe never try jumping the rails and try to get in the ring.." before getting back to the brave solider that Big Show helped out during the break.
