Remember how amazing these two were together?
Striker was a blast when he first started doing commentary, he was new and on the C show and just letting it fly, all sorts of witticisms and references and calling the match very technically at the same time. Grisham's laconic style was the perfect foil, he called the match and managed to slip in some dry barbs at Striker when it was needed. A far cry from STriker trying way too hard and being shouted at by Big Brother Cole and scolded by Meemaw Lawler.
I would look forward to ECW specifically for the commentary at that time, no joke. People only remrember "it's...Christian" unfortunately, but for my money they were the best commentary duo in WWE since Taz and Cole on Smackdown.

Well, they did win the Slammy for Best Announce Team.

That whole show during that time was excellent! My favorite show out of the three.

I liked Striker as commentator until he started to get too carried away with making obscure references. Plus he always managed to sound like a dickhead no matter what he said, like he was talking down to people. I half expected him to explain his references afterwards in a condescending tone. "THAT was a reference to Old Lace and Arsenic, folks, a 1944 dark comedy. You probably haven't heard of it because it wasn't directed by Michael Bay."

I just had this epiphany that I can watch this stuff on the WWE Netowrk.
And just made the discovery that there IS no WWECW on the WWE Network, besides the One Night Stands and December to Disremember.
Night went from made to ruined.

Did they even get to call ECW matches that made PPVs? Man they were a great team. Striker wasn't full of himself yet or trying to cram 9324 reference to crap most never heard of into every match and Grisham was just ready.

Let's be honest here
You hear rumors of Christian returning to the WWE after almost 4 years in which he's going to start a major main event feud with Jeff Hardy and then he randomly shows up on an episode of ECW to call out Jack Swagger. You tell me your reaction wouldn't be "...It's Christian..."

All episodes from 2008 to 2010 are available on Hulu Plus, and there are a good amount of 2009/2010 episodes available on WWE's Youtube channel.

Yes. They were great together. And that's why it was killed.

I remember them switching teams (RAW and SD each had a table), I just thought by the time Striker and Grish were calling the matches they just had the RAW team calling them instead of setting up something for Striker and Grisham to just call one match.

Thinking about it I'm fairly certain they called the ECW Scramble match at Unforgiven 2008. Maybe they just borrowed the Smackdown table.

The ECW announcers had their own announce table for their one match per PPV well into 2009, by which time it was Josh Mathews and Matt Striker. I believe it was when JR had to leave in late 2009 that they started to go with the Cole, Lawler, and Striker team for all PPV matches.

Loved those two commentating together. It still makes me smile when they exchange tweets every once in awhile.

Todd Grisham is one of my favorite commentators of the modern era. He looked like a commentator, he sounded like a commentator and he and Striker had great chemistry together at the ECW booth. I wish they were still around, Grisham mostly.

I wish they were still around, Grisham mostly. Yeah I liked Grisham a lot. But, he needed to be paired with someone a little more hyped up and wordy. So, Striker fit the bill perfectly. His pairing with JR wasn't very good, because JR's energy level had really dropped off by then.

Absolutely. I remember during one of the draft episodes, Strike randomly declared that he missed Todd. I had to agree.
They're very underrated. It's one of the last times I can remember commentary really adding to a show in WWE.
