His mannerisms make him come across as unhinged and crazy. But he never actually does anything that would really show that he is dangerous. Unless you count squirting mustard in someones face. I mean I felt that Brian Pillman or Stone Cold with legitmately hammer me if I crossed them. I don't think Amrbrose comes across as that treatning. I never think to myself "Oh man, what will he do next?!". It's not his fault though, it's the terrible writing and segments they put him in. The only guys who have legitimately ever given off that impression to me were Pillman and Brock Lesnar. I mean, when Lesnar comes out these days you never know if he'll just decide to toss a steel chair out into or near a crowd full of kids. He legitimately doesn't give a eff. Ambrose plays a great "crazy" character, but he's never been the kind of guy to give off the vibe to me that he's like, uncontrollable, or that he could snap at any moment. Austin really didn't either.

WWE really needs more guys on the roster where they're built in a way that you would believe they'd legitimately try to injure you if they thought you looked at them the wrong way. Right now, the only people who feel that way are Lesnar and Orton, and a big part of that is because it's pretty much known that they WOULD try to injure you, no kayfabe needed.

Wacky Ambrose doesn't worry me. Pitchman Ambrose selling crappy WWE films does.

I thought his 'comedy' was fine. For one, it was actually amusing, which is a nice change for WWE stuff. Although Cole and King laughing automatically makes me want to stop.
But I thought he came across as weird and, yes, unhinged, in the segment with the mannequin. If they'd made this just a bit darker, I could imagine it as a scene from some slasher movie, with the killer being all chatty and faux friendly... and then torturing his victim and blaming the victim for making him do it. Up until he piledrived the dummy though, that was just goofy.
I think that Ambrose's delivery lets him get away with a lot, because he has a conviction and sincerity that makes me think that any comedy stuff he's doing is to amuse himself, not to amuse an audience.
The contrast between the crazy, shambolic Ambrose and the cool, collected, suave Seth is pretty cool. Seth is so smug, and Ambrose is so unapologetic that their clash of personalities is really great.

It didn't help that he had the Three Stooges chuckling and goofing on commentary during the entire thing. They should have been talking in concerned voices about how deranged Ambrose was rather than yucking it up. That tells the audience that this "comedy" isn't even supposed to be funny, bur rather that Ambrose is sick and someone to worry about locking in a cell.

When he brought out the maniquin and tore his hand off I thought he was going for a more visceral version of the "To the Pain" speech from Princess Bride
Then it some how fell off the rails somewhere maybe when tongs got out he lost me
