Really good show that was after football which is unstoppable the highest rated show on cable. No one in these threads understands how important relative ratings are. They go up against the NFL every week and have for the past twenty years. That still doesn't change the fact that ratings have been on a slow decline for years now, and regardless of that, the company itself is f***ing terrible right now. Aren't the sliding ratings due to more channels diluting exactly what a 3.1 rating means?

Somehow this is Daniel Bryan's fault.

*turns on RAW* *sees Triple H and Randy Orton holding microphones* *turns off RAW* Yeah, what's with that? Does Triple H really need to open the show with a monologue every week? It just gives me painful flashbacks of 2003.

Somehow this is Daniel Bryan's fault. "Where the hell is this guy?! We build Wrestlemania around him and he walks like CM Punk did? Disgusting!" "Vince, the guy's been out with a severe injury for 6 months now. He had to get surgery so he'll be missing a lot more time." "Well, I've had enough of this shit Paul. These internet marks are too much. I think John and Randy are ready for the big time, goddammit.

Aren't the sliding ratings due to more channels diluting exactly what a 3.1 rating means? That's a big part of why the number looks like as steep a drop as it is, but that's still in terms of the average viewers a 150,000 drop from the show one year ago today.

It just gives me painful flashbacks of 2003. I think it's scary and I've always been convinced he's quite narcissistic when it comes to his own position on television. All connected with 'Project: Make Hunter seem as big as Hogan' that's been ongoing since the early part of the century.

They deserve it for putting on the stalest product they have in YEARS. But again, this is what we get every September through December in WWE, because the only months that actually matter are January (Royal Rumble), February (the road to WrestleMania), March (WrestleMania), April (WrestleMania fallout), and August (SummerSlam). The other seven months are totally irrelevant, completely interchangeable, and positively unwatchable.

I'm in the middle of my first extended break since 1995-1996, and i feel like I've actually dodged a bullet each week by not watching.

I want the ratings to sink low enough they do something drastic. They need to shake things up, Raw's never felt so limp, lifeless, and repetitive as it's been the past few months. The last time they "shook things up" and "did something drastic" to get ratings was Million Dollar Mania I would love for them to do Million Dollar Mania again. Partly because I want to win, but it was entertaining at least.

The solution is to put Cena and Ambrose in more handicap matches with vaguely addressed stipulations against Orton, Kane and Rollins.

I love the tv show Walking Dead. But if next week's episode was a third recap of last week, a third recap of what has happened earlier, and a third of the coolest characters (best actors really, in rassler case "talent") I'd stop watching it too.

So if it were Endless Eight? Guess it's appropriate, I stopped watching that after the third week.

Wow, who would have thought the same matches for like the third week in a row wouldn't feel them in? Third week? More like the last 4 months. Raw was bad pre Sheild break up but since post Shield break up its got worse. The same damn combination of matches happening between Dust Bros and Uso's. Mid card titles feuds between Miz/Ziggler/Sheamus/Cesaro. The most underrated person the last 4 months has to go to Rusev with Swagger right behind.

TWD (and other well-written shows) immerse people into them. Everything matters. You have to pay attention. You have to keep up. If you don't, you fall behind and you realize you missed something. And when you care about the story and the characters, the show takes on this "You have to be there" kind of feel, where being in the moment is as important as anything that takes place in the episode. That's how I feel when I watch GoT: someone backstabs someone else, someone dies, someone new shows up? I want to be discussing it with people. I want to see what happens to my favorite characters. With Raw, that feeling doesn't exist. In WWE, content is either important or throwaway. If it's important, they beat it into the ground with the quickness to the point that it gets boring. If it's a throwaway match or segment, WWE doesn't acknowledge it. They almost never plant the seeds for anything. Matches don't seem to matter much. If you're a major character, you get impermeable plot armor (e.g. Cena always being in the spotlight despite not being the champion and failing to get his hands on Rollins), and if you're not a major character, most of what you do is completely irrelevant and may not even be acknowledged next week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Houston Texans game last night did 13.28 million viewers, which was up from the 12.71 million the prior week.
The three hours were:
8 p.m 3.59 million viewers
9 p.m. 3.86 million viewers
10 p.m. 3.63 million viewers
As compared to last week, the decline was mostly in the first hour.
The rating should be between a 2.5 and 2.7.

Dean Ambrose = Ratings Poison and you can take that to the bank. I wouldn't blame Ambrose. The ratings fall basically every time someone new first starts moving to the main event scene - it happened to Cena, it happened to Punk, it happened to Bryan, and it happened to several others and they've largely moved past it. It's probably more because they only ever elevate people when the roster's completely barren and they have no other choice. Plus, "Cena and Shield Member #__ vs. Kane and Orton" has been going on for months now, it's been the same exact show since like June.
