I've been on a 2003 Kane binge lately and around the 1:14 mark when he comes out and all of Evolution starts running away kills me I miss Kane not being a jobber

Pretty sure Bischoff completely misses the table.
Also, I love the squeal Lawler makes when Kane grabs Bischoff.

Say what you want about Bischoff but with Nash powerbombing off the stage and Kane chokeslamming him off the stage, he was willing to take a bump now and then if it helped progress the story.

God, 2003 Kane was so f***ing awesome. Might be my favorite storyline ever. Him getting led to the ring in chains by cops was so badass.

This was the last time Kane had any credibility until Team Hell No, IMO. I think they ruined it with the Undertaker feud and the Lita stuff.

One more example of Vince hired Bischoff purely to make him his personal you know what Right, cause Bischoff was never thrown off a stage before he worked for Vince...

While I know the brand extention was much more strictly enforced, I honestly wanted him to show up on SD while they were something like battle royal and have everyone in ring (bar Taker, Angle, Show, Lesnar, and Benoit) bail rather than going against the psychopath.

Bischoff told the story on his book that Vince made him practice the spot like ten times. Yeah still he took a pretty scary bump, he almost missed his mark completely

Or tossed into a garbage truck. Actually, he won the pie eating contest because Austin opted out of the aforementioned old woman's pelvis being ground in his face...

Well not as much as Undertaker kidnapping Stephanie in the limo. That shit led to 8 year old me actually not being able to sleep for a few days

The majority of people that posted on forums that I visited at the time posted how unmasked Kane wasn't pushed like a monster enough and wasn't anywhere near as cool as when he debuted.
Funny how this period is looked back on over a decade later.

My counter would be that it started off really great for Kane, but as soon as Shane O Mac got involved it nosedived horribly.
I liked Shane because he had a really good reputation of elevating those he feuded with (X-Pac, Blackman, Show) but the Kane feud was terrible. When he needed to be a dominating monster he was instead going 50/50 and close to losing several times to Shane. And it dragged on and on. By the time it was all done the shine was off unmasked Kane.

Say what you want about Bischoff but with Nash powerbombing off the stage and Kane chokeslamming him off the stage, he was willing to take a bump now and then if it helped progress the story. Bischoff as an onscreen character is one of the greatest heels in wrestling because he was a powerful asshole who got his comeuppance all the time. The nWo may have not lost often, but Bischoff lost pretty much all of his feuds. Brother got his head shaved, lost power all the time, got the shit kicked out of him, and in WWE even more so, and didn't just do it, but SOLD it, too. This guy let Austin - who works reasonably stiff by his own admission - beat the shit out of him for 10 minutes at No Way Out 2003 without getting a single offensive move in.
