Well, since it is October and Halloween is nearly a week away this seemed like it would a good thread.
As for me I haven't watched any except I think Leprechaun: Origins, which SUCKED. Although I may have watched that in September (can't recall exactly). I'm hoping to catch some before Halloween.
So anyone got some and what did you think of what you saw?

Well I have watched the following for the first time Pandorum, Fiend without a Face, Dracula (1931), Spiders 3D, The Revenant, Critters 4, Gorgo, Gingerdead Man & Monsters 2: The Dark Continent. You can find my opinion on each right here in the horror thread officialfan.proboards.com/post/11129663/thread

The 1941 version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with Spencer Tracy and Ingrid Bergman. It's just not as good as the pre-code version with Fredric March. It does have a great dream sequence.

I always try to watch movies I haven't seen during my '31 Days of Horror' slog. I always try to save the 'classics' for the week of Halloween. Every thing I've seen for the first time is in the 31 Days of Horror thread.
I will say that most of the new horror movie releases I've watched have been terrible. I guess that's my fault for making terrible choices.

The Collector, and its sequel The Collection. Never even heard of them before, but enjoyed them both for what they were.

V/H/S: Viral... not as good as the first two. No really great scares and kind of predictable.

I just watched The Strangers (2008). Didn't dig it at all. Also, Liv Tyler's screaming got f***ing annoying real quick.

Other than a few that were on a MST3K collection, the only horror-esque movie this month (so far) was "The Sacrament".
Incredible movie, highly recommended.

I started my own thread about this, but I just saw "House" for the first time.
I will now be spending my night sitting in a corner repeatedly running my finger up and down my lips.

The Burning. It's basically Friday the 13th but better. Picked up the Blu-ray release. Great film. Tom Savini said in one of the bonus features "you actually like these kids", where in other movies you want some of the victims to die sooner. (Nice early performance by Jason "George" Alexander)

"Gone Girl" is a horror movie when you think about it.

I just watched The Strangers (2008). Didn't dig it at all. Also, Liv Tyler's screaming got f***ing annoying real quick. I really, really liked it. But then I haven't watch a lot of that sub-genre of horror. But I loved the ramping of the tension, and most everything. Apart from the screaming, and Speedman having a negative charisma mod.

I watched 'The Human Race' on the Netflix a few days ago as it looked somewhat interesting. Oh was I wrong! The film has a intriguing idea but it just gets so silly.
