To answer the OP's question, no, I do not worry about whether my post is up to snuff when quoting someone. If my post is going to be the drizzling shits, it does not matter how many people read it. I choose not to dwell on it.

You can turn them off? Scariest thing ever is getting quoted by Kash Flagg. Dude legit scares me. In one thread I was quoted by Kash Flagg and Cornfed. I lost seven years of my life seeing that in my notification

I mean, the poster you quote is gonna get a notification about it, so you better make sure it's a damn good post, and not a complete waste of their time. Like, if they see they've got a notification, they're gonna be all kinds of excited. It's either gonna be a like or someone's quoted them. But they see somebody has quoted them and all it turns out to be is a 'QFT', they're gonna be all kinds of pissed. I'm just saying, these days you've gotta be really careful about quoting people, 'cause you don't wanna piss people off or make them cry. Not like the old days when you didn't get a notification when someone quoted you. You could've made a post and someone could've quoted you, but you might never visit the thread again, so you'd never know. Just think about this the next time you quote someone.

Yeah, it's one of those things where I always smile when I see someone's liked a post of mine, but geez, I see I've been quoted and I get such a feeling of dread, haha. As for quoting other people, I don't do it often so I don't really feel much anxiety on that one.

I like it when people quote me because they're either going to tell me how awesome that my post is, or how desirable that I am. It's win-win.
