I guess if GFW starts up, I'd love to see some New Japan guys on the show as well. Hell, give Tetsuya Naito a new lease on life after his failed main event run last year. But yeah, I would except the Young Bucks on the New Japan show, considering they're on the roster and apart of the Bullet Club.
People have talked about CM Punk as being a colour commentator, but that was simply thrown out of left field, but it seems he wants nothing to do with wrestling. I wonder if they just have Chael Sonnen do the commentary with him again like he did on that MMA broadcast
Well, screw that, haha.

MetsFan4Ever came back with this... I did a google search to find out who MetsFan4Ever was but just got a lot of Reddit message board links (ugh) and newz sites claiming he was full of crap... But I still don't know who it is? Is MetsFan4Life the third man?

All that is "known" is he worked for WWE and still has contact there. He's gotten a few stories right (nailed most of the recent releases hours before anyone else and Punk and AJ's wedding) but missed big time on AJ's pregnancy.

I would love JR to do it as long as he shouts "RAAAAIN MAAAAAAAKER!"

I have no desire to hear JR butcher names and call moves "modified throws" anymore, much less for a show that I would guess would be more wrestle-centric.

Yeah quite honestly his involvement has me questioning what was going to be a no doubt purchase. JR is just bad and being new to this, I'd rather they use a guy that knows NJPW better and doesn't struggle with remembering the basics in this role.

For what is worth you should read his Reddit AMA, even if half of the stuff isn't true, its a fun read

I'm just happy the JR/Jeff Jarrett beef seems to be squashed.

As much as I love Jim Ross I agree that his style is much more suited to WWE. There's no one better when calling "Hoss" matches, but I'm trying my best to imagine him calling last years Bucks/Splitters/Suzuki/Hooligans match and I can't see it being anything but a train wreck. Especially when the roster will be almost entirely new to him.
Maybe have JR as a guest commentator during the middle third of the show and stack that portion full of the Gallows, Anderson, Smith, Archer, Muta, Fale, Nagata etc matches? That would at least keep him away from the opening Juniors matches and Okada vs Tanahashi. I'd love to hear JR call a Muta match with the proper enthusiasm and, let's face it, JR could be mid-stroke and still call a Muta 2015 match.

I'm curious as to how he commentates without someone from the E in his ear after all this time.

But, Jim Ross was actually the best play-by-play man in wrestling before he became "Good Ol' JR", the cliche-spouting successor to Gorilla Monsoon. He called WCW Japan Supershow in '91, and I thought he did just fine. Then again, I was completely new to puroresu, so perhaps my expectations were low. I thought he did a fine job of relating the event to an English speaking audience, and I see no reason why he couldn't do the same thing again. It's not WWE, and I seriously doubt he would be talking about BBQ sauce or scalded dogs.
