That was his first televised loss. He actually lost to Warrior about a week earlier in a match that wouldn't air until after WMVI. EDIT: And looking at Wikipedia, it appears he had several pinfall loses to Hogan during their feud on house shows before all of that, but they were never acknowledged.

So if beefcake was his first "official" loss how come monsoon n Ventura don't say anything about it after the match? During 89 they go on and on about his perfect record...

I was watching RR '94 last night where Vince is calling the action with DiBiase. They both kept stating that DiBiase had been in EVERY Royal Rumble, but he was not in '88 or '91... so yeah, commentators lie.

I remember reading about his first losses to Hogan in Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
Interesting not, for those that didn't know, he debuted at house shows in regular short trunks as simply Curt Henning and was a face-I'm not sure if he lost any WWF matches before debuting as Mr. Perfect.

I remember when they were promoting "Curt Hennig" on WWF Superstars. Then, I think his first PPV was Survivor Series '88 or Royal Rumble '89 where he wore his AWA style short tights.

I vaguely remember him being "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig for a bit before they dropped his real name

If I recall correctly the Aptner mags continued to refer to him as Curt Hennig, at least in their rankings, through his entire tenure as Mr. Perfect.

Probably, but the Apter mags played by their own rules on names. They only referred to Waltman as "The Kid" up until his WCW arrival, never 1-2-3 Kid. They called the Memphis territory the "Mid-Southern" territory, even though no one else did. Stuff like that. They weren't adverse to continuing to refer to WWF wrestlers by whatever name they (the writers) preferred.
