WWE Network announced this week that the new Rivalries series, where a different classic rivalry will be showcased every week, will debut on the Network this Monday night (October 27th) right after RAW finishes at 11:06pm EST. The schedule page for the Network hasn't said which rivalry will start the series, but once that comes up, I'll update this post.

So perhaps that Rock/HHH encounter was a teaser for this?

So perhaps that Rock/HHH encounter was a teaser for this? Were they note-worthy rivals?

Really? To me they're guys who occasionally feuded by virtue of being on the same roster at the same time not really 'rivals'

I wouldn't say each other's biggest rivals but yeah, they are easily one of the top rivalries in WWE history. They've done everything but headline a Mania 1-on-1.

Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon will be the first rivalry featured on the series. Of course it will. Jesus, they run this into the ground almost as much as the DX invading Nitro thing. I'd much rather watch a special about Austin vs. Rock.

I liked the first episode, although it's structured in a similar way to The Monday Night War with the sitdown interviews in front of a green screen, it's a good ebb and flow of the rivalry, also including stuff that some may have forgotten about. The fact they couldn't fit the entire Austin/McMahon rivalry into one episode was a good hook to bring viewers back next week.

Not a bad place to start, it's a fun stroll down memory lane and it has a working formula. Familiar names from the past and present talk about the high points of big time rivalry to remind longtime fans of good parts and to interest more recent fans in checking out stuff from featured Rivalries.
