HHH is a diabolical mastermind. Remember that time he snuck a weapon and hit someone with it? Or the time he got unexpected help to get the upperhand?
You'd think other heels would do this stuff.

Why should the villain HAVE to show humility? When has a heel ever done that without it being part of a face turn? To me, it just doesn't seem like something a heel would do otherwise. Normally they just keep spouting their BS and move on to the next feud. The villain has to show humility towards the person who won the feud, even if it's grudgingly done. Then they both move on to their next feuds. There would have been nothing wrong with HHH and Stephanie simply saying that they were wrong about Daniel Bryan, and although they don't have to like him, they can at least respect him. It would have made them all look good, and that's the core principle of wrestling booking. True, but Bryan already looks good by kicking his ass and beating him clean, then backing up two hours later to win the title, so I don't think it would have added too much. Oddly enough, I can see the casual fans (the ones apparently so susceptible to believing Triple H's "B+ player" comments about Bryan and suddenly not buying PPVs, merch and/or Network subscriptions as a result) seeing Triple H's refusal to accept defeat for what it actually was... A sore loser being in denial. *shrug*

Like when Daniel Bryan beat him clean at this past WM or when it looked like Brie could kick his ass, for even a moment, at Summerslam? He still has a long way to go, I agree, but the guy has been okay this year. The Authority, as in Stephanie and HHH, mostly open the show now then let the goons take over. And what followed the Daniel Bryan victory? He was still called the B+, the troll, the goatface etc...If nothing changes, then the clean win means very little. It's all about the follow-up. If the big bad villain doesn't show some humility, then it's dismissed and meaningless. it's called a heel getting heat. and it's doing its job as obvious by your post.

The heel shouldn't be portrayed as the smartest guy on the roster. When t JR: BAH GAWD KANG, TRIPLE H WITH THE SLEDGEHAMMER! THAT NO GOOD BASTARD, HE MAKES ME SICK!!! King: I love it JR! Unlike Norman Soth, Triple H knows how to hammer his point home. HA-HA!! ---

A good old fashioned anti-HHH thread, that takes me back. Back to a time when we all wore onions on our belts, which was the style at the time, and we would gather around the magic viewing box, which is what we called the TV. We'd call our friends and say "hurry over we're going to watch the magic box because HHH is on tonight and he just makes us all so mad!" So we'd adjust the onions on our belts, which was the style at the time, and we'd all long for the days when the new stars would take over. We just couldn't wait for the future because John Cena, Randy Orton, and Mr. Kennedy were sure to be entertaining for years to come! That dastardly HHH would open Raw with a promo that just made us all so mad and then he would beat everyone, we couldn't wait to see him lose!

A sore loser being in denial. *shrug* It's never framed that way though. Whenever the Authority suffer a loss, it's immediately dismissed as being a temporary matter before they either engage some sort of backup masterplan, or continue to say all the same things they were saying before the loss, and being completely unchallenged in doing so. It isn't, because I don't dislike HHH for being a villain in a story. I dislike Paul Levesque for obstructing logical resolutions to stories. It's the difference between hating a character in a story for the villainous things they do, and hating a character in a story because the screenplay is shitty, the acting sucks, and the directing is poor.

Remember when Owen Hart had that bad ankle? Triple H exploited that injury. The Mozart of ring psychology, I tell ya.
