My in-laws are friends with Dominic Denucci. According to them, he likes to "fix his back" by lifting a small car. Aside from that, he's completely normal for an older gentleman.

In the couple of interviews I've seen, George Steele seems to make clear distinctions between the kayfabe world of wrestling and his character there, and real life.

Rick Martel waited to retire to have a child with his high school sweetheart, and they're raising her while touring the world he only ever saw from the windows of a bus. All the while encouraging his daughter into athletics (she's a judoka) and still being a wrestling fan. And not looking like he aged a day in 15 years and having a better physique than anyone here going on 60 years old. If you can find anyone that has a better retirement than Rick Martel, I want to hear it.
If WWE ever needs a poster boy for a wrestler that ages gracefully, he's their man.

Eh I would say that there are far more retired wrestlers who are happy with living normal everyday lives than ones who are drug addicted f***ed up messes.

Hillbilly Jim seems to have life sussed. He had all but retired from full-time in ring work by the time he was in his mid-thirties, saved most of his money from his time on the road, got himself some nice backstage gigs in the WWF and now works as a part-time WWE ambassador and Country Music DJ.

What about that fresh faced youngster Marcus Alexander Bagwell? No doubt, he's making his mother proud.

WWE's "Where Are They Now?" feature on their website chronicles just how normal most wrestlers become when their in-ring days are over. Most settle down and just start a new career.

Madusa does pretty well for herself, so does Trish Stratus. And because of her new career, I can pass on my knowledge of her to my nephew, who watches Monster Jam. Even got him to joke that if she wins the trophy, she will throw it in the garbage.

Another thing is, the guys that are usually the "abnormal" ones aren't truly retired anyway, in that they were staying involved in the business in some form or fashion. Twitter/Youtube wars, convention appearances, doing more than - let's say 2 - 2 shoot interviews, training schools, writing books, radio personality appearances, whatever the hell Sunny is trying to do at any given moment. Hogan's "retired" but still manages to be on TV screens more often than a third of the "active" roster. Sheik's made a new career out of his schtick. Warrior kept himself in controversial spotlights partly to promote his wares. Also, whatever the hell Sunny is trying to do at any given moment. The only reason Billy Jack Haynes keeps reminding people that he's batshit loony tunes is through wrestling-related situations. The McMahon/Benoit accusations, the lawsuit, etc.
Not saying that there aren't well-adjusted people also still working the fringes of the business. Several of the retired Anoa'i members still train and whatnot, but they seem to be getting along just fine, etc. Just saying that most of the ones that seem to be fraying at the edges a bit after their time in the business are usually still clinging to the business in some form.

By most accounts Nikoli Volkof, Stan Hansen, George Steele, and *most* of the 70's/80's midcard went on to lead normal lives outside of wrestling. Apparently, it's just the main-event that makes you lose your marbles. Like many other cults, come to think of it.

Edge? He has neck damage, but he's still all there mentally, most people who retired in the past decade seem to be okay.
