Well, we might as well move from the preseason thread and start anew.
Great opener, Mavs didn't get ran out of the building ala the Bulls last year.
(Bleep) you, Spurs.

Spurs win a close one in their opener without their finals MVP. Can't wait for my Spurs 82-0 party

Jimmer Fredette scored two points in 18 minutes during Tuesday's victory, missing all six of his field goals with zero rebounds, two assists and one steal.

These Lakers... they are going to miss the playoffs even with a healthy Kobe

Bummed that Dallas lost the season opener. But for a team that hasn't been together long, for them to take the Spurs down to the wire, that speaks volumes about the depth of this team and the future. Both teams played a great game and I expect them to battle it out in the WCF this year.

First coach fired?
Bodog's got Kevin McHale as the betting favourite, but I'm not so sure about that. That said, he's gonna be under the gun huge if the Rockets start slow. I'm not really sold on Beverley starting.
If I had to guess, I'd go with Monty Williams.

The Lakers are gonna be so awful this year. I just wanna see how it takes before Kobe goes insane dealing with Carlos Boozer and Swaggy P's shenanigans.
If I had to guess who gets fired first, I'd bet on McHale too. The Rockets need to have a big year and if they start off slow, Morey's gonna have to sacrifice someone. They can't keep blaming Dwight for everything

Reggie blamed reporters for players and front office employees not wanting their name attached to the Kobe slander.

Dwight Howard's team is up 25 points, and everyone is gonna spend all of tomorrow making jokes after Kobe called him soft. And amazingly enough, I think Kobe would kick his ass if they squared up

So in just about 18 and a half hours from now, the Heat will play their first regular season game without the best basketball player in the world on the team.
Even though it was enjoyable watching the 4 regular seasons with LeBron on the Heat (notice I didn't say playoffs), the unpredictability of this year's Heat team makes for a very intriguing regular season for the organization. It's still up in the air as to whether or not they can be known as a playoff contender this year, but I think they have a pretty good chance in doing so.

Could things get any worse for the Lakers? When the Clippers beat them by 30 this year?

It's a broken leg for Randle.
I'm gutted for the poor kid.

This is the first time in my life that the Lakers are just straight up hopeless. I've seen bad Laker teams, but at least 04-05 and last season had some sense of optimism at the end of the tunnel. This is a weird experience for a lot of us

This is a weird experience for a lot of us I think they're the second-worst team in the league behind Philly. Now without Randle and Nash, maybe THE worst.

Could things get any worse for the Lakers? When the Clippers beat them by 30 this year? That might be an improvement over last year for the Lakers. There was one game where the Clippers beat them by 48.

This is a weird experience for a lot of us Right now, all I can do is just laugh at the game (besides the Randle injury). Beats the hell out of being all sour about it. With Randle, at least it's just a broken bone (for now). The recovery time for that is usually less than a torn ligament/tendon.
