Why do people actually like Zack Ryder? I mean really.
I've just never got it.

I only play with main eventers anyway. So this doesn't bother me. I usually just make a CAW in my imagine (think John Morrison but sexier and in shape) and get all the belts(i either get the tag belts with future Hall of Famer Kofi "wildcat" Kingston or a clone of my caw). So suck it ryder

That's like having the Million Dollar Belt, but no Ted DiBiase. Considering how long he's been retired I figure that's actually justifiable. Though they should totally have some kind of thing linking him to it. This is weird. Put a belt in but not the active wrestler who invented the thing.

The logic and hate Ryder is getting in this thread disturbs me. He got himself over on his own will, worked his ass off and is by far the biggest reason the WWE got involved with social media. People shitting on him for being annoyed at how the WWE treated him legitimately offends me. You're defending a billion dollar company run by bullies and assholes over a guy who got his dream ripped from him for no reason other than spite for getting over without their permission.
And now people are laughing at him when they are putting merchandise he created by himself in the game but not him? Come on.

People can get just a tad vicious when it comes to hating certain wrestlers for reasons I can't fully understand, and have this weird revisionist history that Ryder getting Kane'd off a ramp in a wheelchair and then literally kicked in the balls was somehow his fault for being 'exposed.' It's an annoying argument to have, and I gave up trying to defend him because much as I like the guy, trying to have a discussion about him never ends on a good note around here. Still love the guy, hope he gets a chance at at least having television time again sometime, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

Come on. WWE is run by people who have existed in their own little bubble for longer than can possibly be healthy. A bubble where everything they say is immediately validated by several layers of people. If the audience doesn't like it, then they must be part of "bizarro land" or the "internet marks" are upset that they "got worked". And they don't even know they're doing it. Because they're so far in this bubble that they can't see the forest for the mixed metaphors. All the talk of "people outside THIS BUSINESS just don't GET it" is completely and demonstrably wrong. People OUTSIDE the business can see *exactly* what's going on, because they haven't spent years of their life drinking the Kook-Aid (mixed with hard alcohol and crushed up pills to numb the pain). "It's up to talent to reach for the brass ring and get themselves over" is not consistent with what happened to Zack Ryder, or Christian, or Cesaro, or Dolph Ziggler. And it's certainly not consistent with "Creative has nothing for you, so we have to let you go." Think about that for a second. In any other TV environment, writers not having a clue what to do with the characters would result in new WRITERS. They have shown, time and time again, that they are willing to cut off their own noses to spite their faces. People who have shown themselves not only able but WILLING to do whatever it takes in the interests of getting their characters (and, thus, the company) over have had their careers permanently, irreparably marginalized (or outright ended) because of reasons that you'd struggle to call "petty". When they DO finally take advantage of something that's working, they smile their dickish smiles on their incredibly punchable faces and say "See? We told you to wait and see" as if it was their plan all along that Daniel Bryan became the hottest thing in the company. So, yeah, when they take Ryder's BELT that he designed, commissioned, and paid for (but was NEVER allowed to use on WWE TV) all in the name of "reaching for the brass ring" to try to get his character over... No. Screw those guys.
