Luger's tween run in late 95 - early 96 was so confusing. One of the more confusin aspects was Luger was managed by Jimmy Hart, Jimmy Hart at the same time was the manager of the Dungion of Doom, but Luger was not a member of the Dungion of Doom. It was so weird at the time, it reminded me of Bret Hart 98 heel run when he was allies of Nwo Hollywood, but he never wore the Nwo colors.

I liked him when he first returned to the company, but when he turned on Hogan at Halloween Havoc '95 and "showed his true colors" it just got silly, especially when Giant and Ye-Tay started sandwich humping Hogan moments later and suddenly Luger's turn seemed inconsequential.

Lux Luger and the Dungeon of Doom sounds like the name of a pulp-inspired CD-Rom game from the early 90s.

It was really stupid. I kind of liked some aspects of Lex Luger being a heel who was trying to hide it from Sting, but aligning him with the Dungeon and Jimmy Hart was not a good way to do this.

I'm just going through this period on the Network, and yeah, it's baffling. The whole Dungeon of Doom thing was just the goofiest crap imaginable.

I wasn't the only kid that thought it was a DC reference, right?
Lex Luger and the Dungeon of Dooom?
Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom?

I wasn't the only kid that thought it was a DC reference, right? Lex Luger and the Dungeon of Dooom? Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom? As much as I love and miss them, there's no way WCW were that clever.

Honestly, never considered that, and I was a big DC reader when I was growing up. I guess Luger's membership in that esteemed group just didn't stand out enough to me.

It was just a coincidence that they put a guy whose name was inspired by a DC villain into a stable that had the word "Doom" in it.
