Heh, why the Hell not? That actually sounds like it might be fun.
Although as far as female team-ups go, I'd rather have a female Expendables. Just imagine: Michelle Rodrigez, Cynthia Rothrock, Sigourney Weaver, Milla Jovovich, Uma Thurman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lucy Liu and more teaming up to kick ass.

Yeah, Sony is just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks at this point. I have a honest question here. Is this Sony's way of trying to make sure that they hold on to the rights of Spider-Man? Absolutely. They're trying to do what Fox did with the X-Men; altenate between doing the main movies and whatever spinoff they can conjure. Unlike the X-Men Franchise, there are not a large amount of possibilities.

Quick make a Madame Web film, 2 hours of an old woman stuck in a chair talking about spider-mans destiny.
Just do a crime caper movie involving Spiderman and the Bugle, stop trying to make the Parker stuff important.

They'll eventually get to Spider-Man 2099 at some point, right?

Depending on what characters they have the rights to and how well it's written it's a decent enough idea on it's own... but I have no faith in Sony to actually pull it off successfully. I could probably go with Black Cat and Silver Sable and MAYBE Spider-Woman, but how the hell would they be able to do a Spider-Girl appearance? Wouldnt Spider-Woman be owned by Marvel Studios since she's one of the Avengers (in the comics at least)? Same goes for Spider-Woman II (who was in the West Coast Avengers). Jessica Drew has no ties to Spider-man in any capacity so Marvel undoubtedly has her rights. Julia Carpenter they may have the rights to. Black Cat, Silver Sable and Firestar(?). Firestar is a Spider-man and his Amazing Friends creation. Firestar might be one of those tangled up ones... because she's also a mutant.

They may have the right to use Jessica Drew, but if they even tried to put out to moivie with the name Spider-Woman, Sony would slap a law suit on them for issues relating to brand confusion. It wouldn't be worth it. Sony should just give up, do a deal for a tonne of money and get out before the superhero bubble bursts.

True, but Marvel made a deal with Fox so that Age of Ultron can have Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch as long that they don't call them mutants or refer to any connections to Magneto. A similar could be made, but with Marvel, Sony and Fox. Though in the comics, she is more a mutant and Avenger than a Spider-man pal, but she's probably not high on the list of characters to appear for either Marvel or Fox, so maybe they'll let Sony have her. Then again, she's probably not on Sony's list either. Poor Firestar.

I just want a movie or series of movies based on Maximum Carnage. Why does nobody else seem to care about seeing Carnage in any of the movies? I know a lot of people loved the SNES/Genesis game. Because 99% of the Carnage stories are awful and he is often just a terrible character who made fans based on A. Being the 90's, and B. Looking cool. When most of us (me included) grew up and began to really appreciate good character and story, Carnage became way less compelling. Nuh-uh!

(well I could see her being in the movies in a throw away line but as Jessica Drew) But Sony wouldn't have the rights to use her is what I'm saying... that does bring up an interesting question does Sony own the rights to call someone Spider-woman?

I suspect they could, but it wouldn't be allowed to be Jessica Drew.
Julia Carpenter...not so sure. Her Spider-Woman character wasn't really linked to Spider-Man, but as Madame Webb, she is now very much connected.

Disney should buy the rights. Same goes for the Fantastic Four.

Disney should buy the rights. Same goes for the Fantastic Four. They want to. Rumor has it, Marvel is trying to work with Sony to have Spider-Man be part of their movie universe, and reportedly Sony is starting to consider it more due to Amazing Soider-Man 2 not doing as well as they'd hoped. As far as Fox, they won't budge on X-Men or Fantastic Four, despite Hugh Jackman publicly stating he'd like to be Wolverine in an Avengers film. That's why Marvel is doing things like killing Wolverine and canceling the Fantastic Four comic, so that there is no support from them when those movies come out. They are hoping the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies do poorly so they can get the rights back like they did for Punisher, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider.

Disney should buy the rights. Same goes for the Fantastic Four. You can't buy what isn't for sale. The only way Marvel gets Spidey and The Four back, is if there's no movie made within a certain amount of time. Sony will reboot Spidey 1,000 times before giving up the rights. Fox may give up the FF, but will keep a tight grip on X-Men forever. As for Spider-Woman, Sony does have the rights to one of them. Gwen Stacey. While her comic is called "Spider-Gwen" to avoid confusion, in her universe she's called Spider-Woman. A movie would be called "Spider-Woman".

Wrong. Glass Ceiling is a movie that was supposed to be co-produced by TNA and WWE that starred Jeff Jarrett and HHH.
