Today Marks the 40th anniversary of Phantom of the Paradise being released. Some of you might not have heard of it, or seen elements of it in things like the Simpsons at times. But it is a great merge of the story of Faust and Phantom of the Opera with a great soundtrack. It is the other side of the coin of Rocky Horror in some ways.

No doubt equally as important is the recent 36th anniversary of the similarly beloved television special Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park, the film that just keeps getting better with age.

Loved "The Phantom of the Paradise". Lots of great music and a wonderfully slimy performance by none other than Paul Williams, the guy who wrote "The Rainbow Connection" and "Just An Ol'Fashioned Love Song".

Jeez louise did I love this movie growing up, even if the Phantom's screeching spooked me at the time.

Definitely a movie that doesn't get anywhere near the recognition it deserves.
