in order to later edit that part out and insert the Free November WWE Deal from Vince McMahon so they could use a "YES YES YES" chant during it.
That is...splendid. Let us all celebrate the WWE's ridiculousness in making sure Vince looks good.

What about the customers who already purchased a 6 month commitment including November? If November is free for all fans, an extra month should be added on to the months agreed upon and purchased.

It is not free for all fans, it is free for people who have never signed up. No different than Hulu, Netflix, HBO and others do. Anyway, I think I said it 2 or 3 times in the Smackdown thread but that baffles me. It was just pathetic and poorly done. f***, it is Smackdown, just use some footage from RAW after Mania 28 instead of using Bryan's real injuries to get footage so the Vince can make an attempt to convince people to sign up when he has nothing to give.

Basically... Subscribing to the WWE Network at launch was the worst thing you could do. The launch subscribers have not been given a single perk.
I was at Battleground and they were giving out a free shirt of your choice to people who signed up. I said that since I signed up literally the first second you could, could I get a shirt.. Was told no(I expected that). I will also not be getting this free November. Definitely regret signing up. I also may cancel in December when the commitment goes away and wait for the next incentive to come around. As it is, I feel a bit pissed on.

Having missed Smackdown, was the Vince video any different from the one they posted online? Also, I was under the impression the Big Show segment was never supposed to air.

Smackdown opens with Cole and not Cole saying they have a special message then Eden "announces to the crowd" (horrible voice over) that they have a message from Vince and we see that video superimposed over the Tron. Vince does the Yes chant there at the end and they cut to the crowd going nuts and doing the chant like Vince started it. The stuff with Show never aired, but it is obvious now they used him and Bryan's injuries to get the reaction out of the crowd to play after Vince's announcement.

Well, that's pretty damn scummy, though not exactly unexpected behavior.

Hypothetically, if the Network had exceeded expectations and there wasn't any need for the free November thing and so on, would they have done this still?

That is so far beyond even Vince's usual carny bull****.
I thought, "Wow. What a legitimately nice thing to do, having Big Show come out and get the crowd to legit show support for an injured wrestler. Maybe the people making decisions in the company *aren't* rotten to the core."
Then it comes out that they just wanted the reaction for their stupid Network promo.
WWE: What a piece of work.

What? My God talk about over reaction. TV editors using audience reaction in different way than it was intended? Wow, what a shocker!
People realise that this is standard industry practice and much of the reactions you hear on sitcoms etc are either rehearsed, edited or completely made up and dropped in laughter/applause/whooping etc, don't they?
So what if they manipulated the crowd into the Yes chant? At TV show recordings it's not unusual for production to ask an audience to imagine a cat had just died and to say 'Awwww' so they can drop that in throughout the series as and when the sound effect is desired. I can only imagine this thread if they find out that when someone cries on screen it's often with the assistance of an onion.
"Carny crap, **** him, I thought he was genuinely moved by the plot!"
Outrage because people find out a TV show has editors. Next they'll be telling us they're not actually fighting, eh?

It's not the fact that they used a reaction for something different - it'd have been fine if they used stock footage or whatever. It's just that they intentionally used a worker of their's injury to garner the reaction they wanted for something else entirely. It's just trashy and showing they were just being pricks with what looked like a neat, selfless action to give Bryan some support.

He has an injury he's not on life support. They just want to make it look as if there's huge interest in the Network and that was a shorthand to get the crowd to do it. There isn't a single other TV show whose fans would make such a fuss over these tactics.

He has an injury he's not on life support. So, you don't want any sympathy if one day you slip, fall, and shatter your kneecap or something? Given the kind of year he's had between his dad dying, the break-in, and the various injury issues it wouldn't be too surprising if Bryan's in a really rough place right now.

What difference does that make to anything. if they wanted to get the crowd upset they could have sent Big Show out to tell the story of his dead dog. It's what TV shows do they manipulate reaction. I don't think Bryan is really as much of a big girls blouse as you seem to be assuming. He's a guy who fakes shit for a living he's not rocking in his chair with a blanket wondering why they used a 'Yes' chant for purposes otherwise intended by the crowd who did it.

I'll bet ol' Vin-Man doesn't even realize it. It's probably completely slipped his mind. He's likely seen the promo (with hijacked Yes chants) and thought, "Wow! The WWE Universe is REALLY into the Network! Just listen to how excited they are!). Vince McMahon swallows so much of his own **** so eagerly, he's like his own Human Centipede.

New subscribers always get better deals. People who signed up from the very start also got a free trial didn't they? I'm sure the thing launched with one.
