I gotta say Coming To America. But I'm probably biased because I'm watching it right now.
Nothing in Trading Places makes me laugh more than Akeem mopping with the mop still in the bucket with that huge smile on his face.

I've actually never seen Trading Places so Coming to America wins by default, but still, nothing to take away from it. Awesome film.

coming to America is hilarious , Ive never seen trading places. Also the film takes place in my hometown Quesns - & that McDowells set was built very close to a mcdonalds I used to go to when I was a kid . edit: I just looked over the plot details of trading places . I have seen bits and pieces of it , also a very funny movie

Ah, man... what a choice.
Trading Places gave me Dan Ackroyd as the most depressing Santa Claus ever (my favorite scenes were him staggering in the giant hallway and then him eating the salmon on the bus), but Coming to America gave me James Earl Jones as a pinnacle of unintentional comedy with his serious expressions and comments on how an African prince was working at a fast food joint.
But I went with Coming to America.

Both are fine films, but gotta give it up to Coming To America. Rhinoceros pizzle!

Thanks for the move, mods
Really surprised how lopsided this is, but it's an opinion I agree with. It's more Coming to America being great than anything wrong with Trading Places.

Coming to America by a landslide. Both great films but Coming to America is so damn funny and quotable that it us easily my favorite. That and Sam Jackson playing a thug playing Sam Jackson

James Earl Jones made basic-ass lines sound like gold.
"MY SON WORKS?!"
"WHO TOLD YOU THAT?"
"Oh...YOU WANT TO SOW YOUR ROYAL OATS?!"

I love both movies but I'm more of trading places. Eddie Murphy's character just seemed like him, it felt natural. It also has the sexiest woman alive bare chested in it, which is huge plus.

Has to be Trading Places. A certifiable classic.

Trading Places. One of the few movies that somehow gets better with age and every viewing.
