That thread saying Jericho *may* not be as good as he thinks he is, and that his WM matches with Punk, HHH and Edge weren't all that, inspired this.
What are your thoughts on Randy Orton's Wrestlemania matches? Mostly good? Overwhelmingly bad?
WWE Wrestlemania XX Handicap match Randy Orton, Ric Flair & Batista defeated the Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection
WWE Wrestlemania 21 The Undertaker defeated Randy Orton
WWE Wrestlemania 22 World Heavyweight Championship Match Rey Mysterio defeated Randy Orton & Kurt Angle
WWE Wrestlemania 23 Money in the Bank Ladder Match Mr. Kennedy defeated Edge, CM Punk, King Booker, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Finlay and Randy Orton
WWE Wrestlemania XXIV WWE Championship match Randy Orton defeated John Cena and Triple H
WWE Wrestlemania XXV WWE Championship match Triple H defeated Randy Orton
WWE Wrestlemania XXVI Randy Orton defeated Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes
WWE WrestleMania XXVII Randy Orton defeated CM Punk
WWE WrestleMania XXVIII Kane defeated Randy Orton
WWE WrestleMania XXIX 6-Man Tag match The Shield defeat Big Show, Sheamus & Randy Orton
WWE WrestleMania XXIX Triple Threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Daniel Bryan def. Randy Orton and Batista to become new WWE World Heavyweight Champion
I think he hasn't had a truly great WM moment, but overall he's been solid. The match with HHH was a stinker, but otherwise his WM matches have been decent to good.
I enjoyed the match vs the Legacy, and it cemented his face turn. Back then the crowd was really turning him face and it had all the makings of 96/97 Austin in how over he was getting (in my opinion) but it petered out.
I think the match this year with Batista and Bryan was fantastic. All three did a great job, and it made everyone look like a million bucks. It really put Bryan over the top too.
The Kane match was actually alright. Kane is a guy when you've got noone better to wrestle. Didn't Angle of all people wrestle Kane at a WM?
I don't remember the Punk match, but I think it was good?
The Undertaker match had that classic Chokeslam into RKO counter and was a pretty good match to add to the streak.
Thoughts?

Fascinating how he went from opening the card last year to main event match this year. I don't think there are very many who have done that, if any (I believe both Paul Orndorff (WM1 to WM2) and Bret Hart (WM9 (if you ignore the Hogan "cash-in") to WM10) went the other way in the past, from main event to opener).

Loved the Undertaker match. vs. Punk was good, just remember thinking it was a bit slow. vs. Kane was ... eh. Six man against the Shield was fine. Triple threat vs. Bryan and Batista was great.
Hsven't seen the others. A lot of people praise the Evolution vs. Rock & Sock match though.

His wrestlemania matches, sans this years, are exactly like his whole career. Completely unremarkable. I'm struggling to think of another wrestler who has had such a lengthy career with so few memorable moments.

I still don't like that match he had with Punk despite everyone telling me how good it is. I don't know what it is, either.
I thought his Taker match was the only one that felt special. The Triple H match...holy shit, absolutely embarassing.

The first two were his best. The win over Cena and Triple H too.

I didn't realise he has had four Triple Threat matches at Mania.
I like the Legacy Triple Threat too, its not too long and there always seems to be something happening in the match. I could not get into the Punk match when watching it live. From watching it again, it is decent. The Handicap match at XX is alright for what it is, fun with a good crowd with some comedy spots but with the goal of getting the spotlight on Orton.

The win over Cena and Triple H too. That was a huge f***ing shock. Hell, I hated the fact that Cena used his Rumble shot early, I figured for sure they were going to try to get the title on him ASAP. I was wrong in both cases. The lesser of three evils won the match.

I feel kind of bad for Orton vs Triple H, as they had their legs cut out from under them there. That said, if all he is remembered for would be his Undertaker match and for his part in WM30, there's no shame in that.

I think Randy Orton not having very many good WM matches since his match with Undertaker has a lot to do with Randy Orton not being in very many good storylines since his match with Undertaker. I mean, it's not his fault and his matches usually have a moment or two that are awesome. It's just he hasn't really done anything until he joined The Authority.

I think he started strong, with great matches up until 25, which was terribly booked and executed. The Legacy triple threat at least had a hot crowd and the return of the Orton Pose, and his match with Punk was great. The two years after that were shit, but this year's main event was awesome and Orton carried it.
His big Mania moment coulda/shoulda/woulda been winning at 25, but Trips just can't stop burying Randy.

His match against Kane was surprisingly really good.

Well his match with Kane was good. But I'm basing this off of what is going to be memorable for me which is the triple threat at Mania 30.

The Legacy triple threat was a huge disappointment to me. Was expecting that to be great with the three guys involved but it was just a handicap match where toward the end Cody and Ted started fighting each other for absolutely no reason.
Incidentally, two things - one, damn Orton's had a lot of triple threat matches at Mania. Two, I really hope next year goes six straight on Orton facing at least one person Cena faced at the February PPV.

vs Rock & Sock: Solid match to give him and Batista momentum vs Taker: His best WM match hands down vs Angle vs Rey: Solid match but I was pissed that Angle was third fiddle in his own title defense vs Edge/Jeff/Matt/Booker/Finlay/Punk/Kennedy: Solid match but it's not like he was the star of it vs Cena vs HHH: Solid match with the remarkable moment being that he won over two superfaces vs HHH: Holy shit that was bad vs Rhodes vs Dibiase: Okay match with hot crowd vs Punk: Boring match and honestly they should have made it a Lumberjack with the New Nexus surrounding him vs Kane: Good match but bad storyline vs Shield: Average match vs Batista vs Bryan: Awesome match with his table bump being the highlight

I mean, it's not his fault and his matches usually have a moment or two that are awesome. It's just he hasn't really done anything until he joined The Authority. I think he kinda had somewhat of a decent track record for storylines (especially 25 and 26 with Triple H and Rhodes/DiBiase). But these past 4 just highlight how much he doesn't do anything. vs Punk, vs Kane, and vs Shield were just "he's important so we need to throw him on the show somewhere I guess" matches that did shit for him. Hell even in the Bryan match, Batista was the main heel there, Orton was just...there to bring our Bryan's future belt and do some spots, guy had no heat.

Well, the Punk match at WrestleMania 27 was the match of the night. However, it was a pretty bad WrestleMania.
