As someone who's never read the comic version, is Civil War something they can wrap up in one movie, or do we think shits still gonna be hittin the fan at the end and wrap up (somewhat) in Infinity Wars? I'll be shocked if they wrap it all up in one movie, but it could be done. They likely won't hit every beat of comics Civil War, just getting the main parts of it, then giving everything a MCU twist.

So what is the catalyst for the film version going to be as we have no New Warriors this time. Or are we somehow going to get Nitro to demolish an american suburb again anyway? Nothing in A:AoU really screamed must make a registration act pronto. I think it will be a combo of SHIELD and The Avenger's mistakes (Project Insight and Ultron) that lead the USC to take direct control.

I think I finally figured out how Civil War will happen. With the Academy in place at the end of Avengers 2, I think there will be jump in the number of active superheroes, while some (ie. The Netflix lineup of heroes) still work outside of SHIELD, covering bases for how New Warriors are around (including their reality show).
But the REAL crux will be, Tony creating the Android Thor. Since its rumored Thor 3 is gonna be about Ragnarok, perfect reasoning for (a) Thor's absence from the main MCU (b) A reason for Tony to once again have a kneejerk reaction, and do something stupid, reasoning that he's batting .500 after Ultron and Vision. This of course, would (rightfully so) piss Cap and co off creating the split. Cap's team is already made up of types who would not enjoy that kind of thing (Scarlet lost Pietro due to Ultron, Falcon's the ride or die homey, etc.), and Tony's team could just be SHIELD with maybe one or two heroes (have Widow play Spiderwoman's role).

I think putting heavy emphasis on stuff happening on the TV shows would be a really bad idea.

I think the shows more or so are sowing the seeds while the movies are running with those angles on a larger scale. We're starting to see the seeds of the Civil War and Inhumans being planted in AoS but they're not necessary to enjoy the larger picture.

The second they start putting vital information in the shows though.... Hm. No thanks. To say the least.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't seen any of Agents of Shield. Is it worth the watch? Also this Civil War roster just isn't large enough for the concept behind the storyline.
Are they going to expand it and have cameos like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and possibly Dr. Strange show up in order to give it the extra scope? What made the story so unique, in my opinion, it was seeing the likes of X-Men, Fantastic Four, along with Spider-Man, Iron Man, Cap, and other superheroes fight for a particular cause.
Just how exactly are they going to pull this off?
Confirmed characters: Cap Iron Man Bucky Black Panther Spider-Man Hawkeye Widow Falcon Helmut Zemo Scarlet Witch Crossbones
That roster is way too small for this to actually work. Unless they're going to have War Machine, Vision, possibly Thor, Daredevil, a Dr. Strange cameo, or something to help drive this film it's going to be a hard sell in my opinion. I feel to give it scope I say have Hulk go on a rampage in another state or country, killing innocent victims(not intentionally of course), and in the process you have the government finally having enough and calling for some sort of regulation of superheroes.
It's cliche and simple obviously, however, it seems like it's the only logical path to take in terms of the storyline.

First season is very uneven and bumpy, but it got interesting right after The Winter Soldier was released in theatres and it took a cue from there over the last four or five episodes. Second season is a million times better. Better writing, better acting, actual consequences and they managed to turn the most vanilla character from the first season into arguably its best. So is it worth watching? Yeah. Are you going to like all of it? You're probably going to dislike a lot of the first season.

I don't know why there's even a question on whether or not War Machine and Vision are involved in your aside from that we'll also have both Ant-Men and Panther by then as well as possible return for Bucky.

I think Daredevil would at least have to be mentioned since they city of New York now knows about him.

I'm not even sure we're going to get the New Warriors/Nitro incident to set off Civil War. Enough has happened to set off anti-enhanced feelings world wide. After the MCU's 9/11 in the Battle of New York, there have been enough attacks to bring public opinion down. Extremis/Mandarin in Iron Man 3. The assault on Greenwich in Thor: the Dark World. The very public fall of Shield in Cap: Winter Soldier. The Inhuman uprising on AoS. {Spoiler}The entire collateral damage of Age of Ultron I'm just curious if there's one more Big Bang to set it off.

The Sherlock fangirl crowd will be screaming about Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman having roles in the MCU. Now all we need to do is get David Tennant from Jessica Jones on the same screen and we'll finally get that Doctor Who/Sherlock crossover.

Or Malekith... or Nebula... or The winter soldier's girlfriend from the first Cap movie

I wonder who Freeman will be playing. Any major British heroes or villains he'd suit?

Captain Britain (does Marvel have the rights to him?), Black Knight, Union Jack are my guesses.
