I wish he was on Team Authority somehow. What a shame. He's great in the ring and deserves much better, and I'll never understand how they screwed him up after WM XXX.

Why even have such a pointless swerve? The guy is on no one's team - the Authority declined his request. So.... why go through with it? From a booking standpoint AND from a kayfabe standpoint. It achieves NOTHING.

Ziggler and Ryback already had the majority of the focus and Big Show is Big Show, so I can't imagine Cesaro getting much shine even if he really did turn and join Team Cena.

I don't care man, that was funny as f***.
Team Authority laughing in Cena's face after that swerve was hilarious.

That one hit a little too hard. Serves me right for getting excited about WWE doing something with Cesaro.

Yeah, look at how they buried him tonight by having him take Ryback to the limit, and get one over on a main eventer. What a jokester!

It achieves NOTHING. Well, he could run in on Sunday as an obvious Authority partner/member after tonight, turn on them handing the victory to Cena and becoming a huge mega face in the process or Lose to Fandango in the opener before being becoming the Alex Wright to 'Dango's Disco Inferno.

Even if he was on Team Cena he wasn't getting a Push.
He would have been fodder to feed Cena's ODDS. Like the rest will be.

Yeah, look at how they buried him tonight by having him take Ryback to the limit, and get one over on a main eventer. What a jokester! That match with Ryback is definitely Cesaro's ticket to ride! Nevermind the fact that he's faced Ryback a million times on TV in competitive matches dating back to 2012 and has already taken Cena himself 'to the limit' this year. Those 'taken to the limit' matches have built so many stars. And he really got one over on Cena by acting like he was relevant before slipping away in the blink of an eye. Also this post sounds super snarky and it's really not meant to be, I just wholly disagree with your take on this.

This is the most use he's had in months, lately, between this and the triple threat match. They've done a good job actually allowing him to showcase his strength again, after a long time of chickenshitting him.

Wait, is he on Team Authority or not? I don't think he is, I think he mainly was there to just shit on the faces for his own amusement and to perhaps get in good with the other heels.

Yeah, look at how they buried him tonight by having him take Ryback to the limit, and get one over on a main eventer. What a jokester! I'm sorry but I'm so freaking tired of hearing "but he looked good in defeat!" So what? It don't matter. Cesaro's gonna be in the exact same "jobber to the stars" spot he is after this match. Let's look at Edge losing by the skin of his teeth to Kurt Angle at Backlash 2002 since, to me, that's a prime example of a guy actually looking like a star in defeat. Edge had an awesome long, competitive match with a top-tier talent and got beat. Not even via cheating or anything, Angle was simply the better man that night. You know what they did with Edge after that? THEY PUSHED HIM HARD. They didn't just let him go back to dicking around in the mid-card after that. He was pushed as, essentially, a top-level guy on Smackdown and got plenty of matches with guys like Angle, Benoit, and Guerrero. f***'s sake, they let him have a tag title run with Hulk Hogan. They took that match and used it as a launching point to build some serious momentum for Edge. If Cesaro isn't consistently booked as a top-level guy after this, what does it matter if he took a main eventer to the limit? A month from now, nobody's even gonna remember it because he'll be right back to doing a whole lot of nothing just like he was before the match. It's the exact same argument I had with people when they were trying to say that Damien Sandow "looked like a star" when he failed at his MITB cash-in. BTW, to those people, I'm still waiting for you to finish your serving of crow. A guy can have competitve matches with top guys all day and all night and it don't matter if those matches aren't combined with strong, consistent booking. Cesaro wasn't buried tonight but let's not pretend he was treated as anything but a middle of the road heel that is 100% expendable.
