Laughter. I found what you said to be humorously incorrect. I feel that, per capita, divas are released just as often as superstars. Saying that "WWE rarely releases divas" is, to me, a laughable statement because of that. I dunno, I'd say for the main roster, it's pretty true. Most of the ones who've left the past few years - Beth Phoenix, the Bellas when they left, Kaitlyn, Eve, Maryse, Michelle McCool, whoever else - tend to leave of their own accord. The only main roster women I recall being released any time recently are Aksana, Mickie James, and Maria. Katie Lea and Melina, also.

Also developmental wise Ivelisse and Alicia Fox's sister were both released and didn't leave on their own accord and that was only two years ago I was referring to main roster divas only, since the topic of discussion was Layla. I could name quite a few developmental women that got released over the last few years.

Totally unintentional. Besides Beth Phoenix, are there any gifs of Layla groping other women? Not exactly groping, but I doubt you'll mind:

Passable wrestler and promo, but massively overrated due to her looks like so many other Divas, she still makes some very elementary botches for a near ten-year veteran. Plus, like Stephanie, she's now had so much botox and cheek filler she can no longer make extreme facial expressions without looking weird (I kinda scoff when people marvel at how well those two have aged as if it's some natural phenomenon). As for her longevity, she seems to have a very positive attitude, she's good with the media, and a good versatile performer to have free to fill in as and when needed.

come on guys, don't we have to celebrate this with pics of Layla? In my defense I went on her Instagram and Twitter yesterday for the first time ever, but I was put off by the overly religious posts. I would have just felt dirty trying to find hot pics of her to post here.

By far the best thing to ever come from the Deever Search (AJ Lee a close second since I consider NXT3 a basic carbon copy of the concept)

She does it by giving everything her all and exceLling in every capacity they've presented her. Just by being involved or associated with someone, she flushes out their character and makes them more interesting. She's super talented and looks like she's having a great time. That's how she does it. I was going to say pretty much this. She is highly charismatic, she's a decent wrestler (in the sense that she's not particularly great but what she does, she does it well) and she is just a Hell of a lot of fun to watch. And of course it helps that it feels like she actually wants to be here, which is more than I can say for about half of the Divas the WWE has had in about 20 years. I wish they hired more women like her.

Okay, gifs aside, what are you actually trying to say here? It reads as: Divas are rarely let go (besides leaving of their own accord, getting fired due to behavioral issues and having their contract run out). Which are quite a few qualifications to your statement to begin with, but even then it's still not a "rare" case that a diva is released. I'd say around HALF of the divas who made it to the main roster but are no longer employed by the WWE don't meet your qualifications. That's hardly rare. I didn't say anything about them having their contracts run out, just behavioral issues and leaving on their own. That means I'm saying you rarely ever see divas get fired for things like budget cuts, poor performance, or the WWE not renewing their contracts. Which means it's understandable as to why Layla's been in the WWE for so long. You never hear about her having any backstage problems, and considering the fact that she doesn't seem to have any other talents besides dancing, and given her age, she likely isn't getting any better offers from outside of the WWE. If you disagree please go ahead and name a few divas in recent years that don't meet my qualifications, instead of posting a random gif in response. Aksana's pretty much the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Was the reason Katie Lea, Jillian, Cherry, Aksana let go due to behavior problems?

In my opinion, Layla's greatest year was 2012 :
Won the Divas Championship and held it for 5 months Ran the Bellas out of WWE (temporarily) Defeated Beth Phoenix twice on Pay Per View
I don't think she will ever have another year like that.
