Pick a Black Metal band, any. If you wanna count somewhat official bootlegs, there's always Mayhem's Dawn of the Blackhearts. That cost about as much as a disposable camera. Well, that, and the price of a shotgun.

Most of R.E.M.'s album covers were craptastic really.

I'm going REALLY obscure here, so obscure that there isn't even any songs from this album on YouTube but I assure you, it's real!

There are a ton of covers that are cheezy as hell, though

There are a ton of covers that are cheezy as hell, though Definitely agreed. but part of that minimalist vibe is BECAUSE those covers were made so cheaply. The DarkThrone guys basically took a black and white photo of one of their members, xeroxed it, and used the Xerox as the actual cover, to counter the overblown, super colorful album covers thrash and death metal bands were doing at the time. I love it, I'm not knocking it at all. A Blaze in the Northern Sky was the back patch on one of my vests for years. Also, it's kinda interesting how DarkThrone's music has gotten more primitive and minimalist over the years, yet their album covers have gotten way more intricate.

I like the No Limit Records covers. They're very over the top and ridiculous...but that's why I like them. And I must be the only person in the world who really likes the Full Blooded Memorial Day album. In my opinion it's one of the most underrated of all the No Limit releases.

Even though I was a fan of the band before I saw this cover, it still made me skeptical... nah, no reason to worry, it's about as brilliant as "What Does Anything Mean Basically" and maybe better than "Script Of The Bridge".

Even thought Faith No More is one of my favorite bands I've always found the cover of King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime really cheap looking.

Pick a Black Metal band, any. yeah all you need is the inability to care that using your friend's violent suicide as an album cover might lead to jail time. Immortal have to be the kings, at least early on. it was mostly just pictures of them looking evil with plastic weapons, except for "At the Heart of Winter", which coincidentally was their best album.

Apparently the band decided to use an unfinished version of the picture leading to the artist asking to have his name taken off. So many errors that half an hours editing would have sorted... Why they used this I'll never know

"Hey Ghostface?" "Yeah?" "What did the duck say to the bartender?" "I dunno, what?" "Put it on my bill!""Great! Print that and we have our album cover"

OLD - the Musical Dimensions of Sleastak This album came in at number ninety-three on my top one hundred albums countdown (wink-wink, nudge-nudge, link- link) and never has an album cover described the music within any better. Cheap, chaotic, messy, disjointed.
