- Drew McIntyre getting quite a bit of time and actually getting to hang with DX - Beth Phoenix entering and eliminating Khali - R-Truth eliminating Big Show and Mark Henry at the same time - Kofi Kingston being pretty much an afterthought, considering his push in the months prior - The three ECW participants having the worst performances ECW ever put up in a Rumble, including Shelton jobbing to HBK AGAIN, and Ryder jobbing to a microphone - The Miz getting surprisingly little time in the match, considering how the rest of his year went - The fact that, in 2010, the match was built around Shawn Michaels
Just a very strange match in general, though still far from the worst one ever.

Best Rumble for a long time I'd say, best of all the recent ones going back until the even better 2007 one I'd say.
I don't think Beth entering and eliminating Khali is that odd, it's a cool moment.

There were a ton of people who were eliminated almost immediately, and the ring never really filled up. I feel like this was WWE trying to do the opposite from the 2009 Rumble where hardly anyone was eliminated until the very end.

It was also weird how Carlito came in and had everyone, including Triple H, bumping like crazy for him. He hadn't done anything in months and was clearly on the way out so it was strange to see him get that kind of spotlight in the match.

And Michaels wasn't even trying to win the title. He just wanted to win because Taker just happened to be champion.

I'll say this, though. It was probably the last Rumble to generate any excitement over who might win. Going in, you had five strong candidates, Michaels, Triple H, Cena, Batista, and even Jericho. And the winner ended up being a surprise entrant. Since then, it's been painfully obvious who was going to win. Well, 2011, but just because they swerved us doesn't mean the end result was actually any good.

Too many people gone immediately. The thing didn't even last 50 minutes. When Rumbles should go at least an hour. People were gone WAY to quickly. We were at the final 4 before Batista entered at 30. Shame because the storytelling of Michales and Punk were brilliant. Rumbles 07,08,12-14 are great rumbles in terms of pace and balance

Definitely not my favorite Rumble, but certainly not the worst. That honor goes to either 95, 99, or 93(the latter just for being so boring). I think I'd put either 2001 or 2005 as my favorite, with 92, 89, 07, 08, and 97 as runner-ups.

I loved the start of that Rumble. SES Punk was great.

I enjoyed this Rumble a lot. It never fell into the trap that lots of previous ones had and that's to clutter up the ring and have lots of people just randomly walk around punching each other with nothing happening -- it always felt like something was happening in this one.
It was good. And Punk was great.

Punk cutting a promo between eliminations was awesome.

I was there.
The two things I best remember are Punk's promos between elimination and the huge pop when "You think you know me" hit and Edge appeared.

Punk cutting a promo between eliminations was awesome. The 2010 Rumble is one of the most entertaining things Punk ever did. I could honestly have watched him cut a promo on all 29 other participants as he went on to win.

He barely sold Carlito's offense.

Yeah that's it. I think when #30 came out in 2009 there were 14 other people in the ring. I think in 2010 there were just 5 other people or something. A weak Rumble imo and Kofi's quick exit made no sense at all as he should have made it near the end given how hot he was.

2010 was awesome until Triple H entered and ruined it.

It was a let down. Nobody had a journey in the match of 90% of the entrants were treated like jobbers. I mean about 18 guys in the match had about 45-70 seconds before they were eliminated.

I'd take 2010 over 2009 anyday.
Nothing happened in 2009. It was just one entry after another with nothing exciting happening in between. RVD's cameo was the only bright spot and the ending with HHH and Legacy was so predictable.
