"John Cena has five moves, I have 2. John Cena can cut a promo, I have 2." "John Cena has 5 moves? I've barely got 2. Cena can cut a promo? I've got 2 of those, too."

The biggest reason I hate that they broke up The Shield, honestly, is that Reigns was making some strides in-ring when he was paired with Rollins and Ambrose. Since he's gone solo, Reigns has been exposed in a HUGE way, and even more so with the transparency with which they are elevating him. For me the Cena comparisons end with the fact that, despite his normal performances, Cena has shown on multiple occasions that he can rise to the task and put on a great match. Reigns has basically shown the exact opposite, and it's not as though he was showing 4- and 5-star matches on the indies and then came into WWE limited by the style they require; he took an already limited repertoire that became even more repetitive when he fell into doing his version of the "____ Moves of Doom".
I honestly don't see any way that skyrocketing Reigns to the top and have him be the one to dethrone Lesnar is going to go over without the fans just crapping all over it at this point, without giving him more time to improve both in-ring and on the mic. Personally, I'd buy him as the next monster heel more than anything. If they haven't soured too much on the "Heyman guy" thing after it did nothing for Cesaro or Ryback, I'd hold him out for a while, perhaps with some interview segments that he was coming back with a vengeance(a new man, whatever you want to say.) Hype a major return for a Raw. Come that Raw, Heyman's music hits and Paul comes out and does his magic with the mic and he introduces Reigns as his newest client. Put the Company Guy Reigns plans on hold for a bit and build some new faces and give Reigns some "experience" time. Easy booking then would have Reigns turn on Heyman and begin his big face ascent to the WWEWHC.

The funny thing is that Reigns has been off TV for two months and people are still complaining about his push.

Did he seriously just list "black hair" as a reason why he's better than Cena?

I said it in another thread, but Reigns reminds me of Kevin Nash. Sucks when forced to be a "bad ass", but hilarious when being himself, whether he's sometimes cool or sometimes kinda dumb.

That completely turned me off of Roman Reigns. Would him wearing a loin cloth help?

Regarding the article in the original post, I just want to say good for former WCW star Reno, running his own newspaper and his own Comic Con. Glad to see how wisely he invested the earnings from his short in-ring career.

If it's kayfabe, I still hate it. Because then it means WWE are trying to get him over by having him pander to the Cena Sucks fanbase.

A lot of things look worse when written down. In text form it looks like a bitter shot at John Cena, but he could just as easily have been saying it in a light hearted way with a big smile on his face during the interview.
In summary, I'll wait until I know the actual context of these comments before I judge.

Anyone consider that it could just be a friendly jab at a buddy, if out of character? Even if in character, that shit won't be shown on TV, so who cares? No, we must overthink this!

I laughed when I read this. He's either blind, in denial, or outright lying. I can't tell which. All the way back in November of last year the focus of The Shield went from three equal guys to "OMG it's Roman Reigns and The Shield!". And then when they split, Ambrose and Rollins begin an upper midcard feud as Reigns goes on to become an immediate fixture in main-events with John Cena and Randy Orton. It wasn't until he was injured that Ambrose was allowed to step up into that spot. Yeah, all three are being pushed well, but if he doesn't see that the company favors him over the other two, he's an idiot. I think Roman makes a good point. It might have been a shitty way to say it, but I agree with his point. To me, all three of the Shield guys are being pushed equally. Differently, absolutely, but equally. And thats because they are three different people. Are they favoring Rollins any more because they are calling him "The Future of the WWE" multiple times a show? I see the three of them kind of like Austin, The Rock, and Foley. Three very different characters, but all very much at the top of the game. And I think, or at least I HOPE that those three can usher in a bit of a new era in booking philosophy, getting away from the one man main event scene that they've so relied on with Cena, to a larger more balanced main event scene.

No it was a reason why he was different In this thread people get worked by kayfabe zzzz You got guys here who can remember every match two wrestlers have had with each other going back ten years, but forget that, for example, 99% of WWE Twitter posts are kayfabe no matter how often they see them used as fuel for storylines. It is what it is...

Reigns went to the Bella twin promo school of emphasising the wrong word at the wrong time. I will FACE YOU... tonight.
Also doing the full setup to the superman punch only to follow that up with the same setup to the spear just kills any momentum and crowd buzz he may have created in the buildup.

In this thread people get worked by kayfabe zzzz It's actually a double work. The "haters" are actually in on it so that haters of the haters come out of the woodwork to put their thoughts in. Sorry bro, you just got worked. You're not actually on a forum right now...it's all a kayfabe illusion.

Not saying you're wrong on this not being serious, but this wasn't on Twitter, and this isn't part of some storyline considering they're both faces and Reigns still likely won't make his return for another month or so. Also, I'd really appreciate it if people would recognize the difference between a work, and a wrestler simply trolling the fans.

Easy booking then would have Reigns turn on Heyman and begin his big face ascent to the WWEWHC. Cena has taken a LONG time though. When he was at his absolute worst (Khali, Big Show, Umaga) in terms of being shoved down the audience's throat, he still wasn't very good in the ring. It wasn't until Edge pulled some really good matches out of him, then a couple great matches with HBK, then the Punk match where it all really seemed to click for him and he's been a really quality worker since. Point being, he was at the top for a very, very long time before being able to "rise to the task and put on a great match." Reigns isn't there now, but that's hardly stopped them before. And of course the IWC would get behind him more with Heyman. They're just like Vince and Co. They like what they like.
