It's actually a double work. The "haters" are actually in on it so that haters of the haters come out of the woodwork to put their thoughts in. Sorry bro, you just got worked. You're not actually on a forum right now...it's all a kayfabe illusion. It's rasslin St. Elsewhere really. Which is inside the mind of Vince Russo's autistic son. #swerve #bro

Reigns went to the Bella twin promo school of emphasising the wrong word at the wrong time. I will FACE YOU... tonight.
Also doing the full setup to the superman punch only to follow that up with the same setup to the spear just kills any momentum and crowd buzz he may have created in the buildup. In my head I heard this in Steve Blackman's voice...

I don't think this is in-character or a work. I enjoyed that GiantBomb podcast with Roman Reigns, he seems like a nice guy, but like they say, an ego is almost required in WWE. Roman does have a massive ego, he points out that he's attractive in the podcast, he says he wants to be THE top guy etc, not unusual stuff, but it doesn't seem like he's joking when he thinks he's better than other people, he holds himself in very high esteem. Since he keeps saying stuff like this in candid interviews, I don't see why some think it's a work.
And that said, none of this makes me think of him differently or less as a fan. CM Punk can seem a bit cranky, I think he's terrific. As long as these guys aren't dropkicking kittens or something.

Since he's gone solo, Reigns has been exposed in a HUGE way, and even more so with the transparency with which they are elevating him. For me the Cena comparisons end with the fact that, despite his normal performances, Cena has shown on multiple occasions that he can rise to the task and put on a great match. Reigns has basically shown the exact opposite, and it's not as though he was showing 4- and 5-star matches on the indies and then came into WWE limited by the style they require; he took an already limited repertoire that became even more repetitive when he fell into doing his version of the "____ Moves of Doom". I say this as a Reigns fan, they screwed up by putting him against Orton. He should have been feuding with guys like Cesaro, Sheamus, and Bad News Barrett (before the injury), guys that meshed with his style. Against those guys he can have a 15 to 20 minute match where they just beat the piss out of each other, and being with them would branch out his style to where he can mesh with guys like Orton. Hell, remember it took a long time for Barrett to really mesh with Orton. Barrett had fantastic matches with Cena, but when they put him in there with Orton the matches were bad. It took awhile, but eventually their matches got better.

It took awhile, but eventually their matches got better. It worked pretty well for Sheamus/Cesaro, I could watch those two have a semi-strong style match and just beat the snot out of each other for weeks. Here we run into the problem with WWE's booking again, what with the hotshotting people to the top and presenting the same matches week in and week out rather than having them work their way through the roster in a slow build.
