Yeah, my big brother and his wife get their first child next month and I will get to be an uncle for my nephew (which they will name Paul). I am just so excited and happy about this that I felt the need to share it with FAN. Any uncles here themselves who want to share their experiences with their nephews/nieces?

Being an uncle is great, you get to do all the fun stuff and skip all the rest. Then the parents realise they've got a free babysitter handy...

Wonderful. Nieces and nephews are the best. You get all of the fun parts and none of the hard parts.

It's a lot of fun. You can play catch with them or help them ride their bikes.
My nephew is a big marvel superhero fan, so he has pj's with Spider-Man on them and Iron Man toys. My brother and I are big comic book fans but we didn't get him interested in the stuff, as he got into it himself. I don't want to overly influence him in his interests, but it's cool to see him like comic book heroes.

Being an uncle is amazing. It's all the love with none of the responsibility. Sadly all my nieces and nephews live in different parts of the globe so I only get to see them once or twice a year at most. I still savour every moment thought.... ...that is until they throw a tantrum and I chuck them back to their parents.

I have 2 nephews and a neice that I haven't seen in 12 years. Think they're all in College now. One might have graduated already.
