How far do you think he could have gone?

He'd have done about what he did to be honest. He had talent&charisma but benefit huge from being a big fish in a small pond in a way. WCCW was a quality fed, but the nepotism helped immensely.
His one world title was literally a sympathy win.
His WWF spot was about right, drugs or no.

Always did wonder if David didn't die how far could he have went. from what I read he wasn't like Kerry, Kevin or Mike. He understood the business side

I guess he may have eventually ended up in WCW, probably not doing much of note.

Its hard to say because even if he was clean he still was pretty much a compete and utter idiot by all accounts.

From all the stories David was the only one that had the business sense

Always did wonder if David didn't die how far could he have went. from what I read he wasn't like Kerry, Kevin or Mike. He understood the business side The run that Kerry got was actually slated to be David's run, and he would have actually had a legit run with the NWA world heavyweight title. They wanted him to be the man at that point in time. Having said that, I think David would have been a major player either in Crockett/NWA along side Big Dust and Magnum across from the Horsemen, or he would have gone north and been an upper mid carder, perhaps going further than Kerry did.

Always Did wonder if David would have went to Vince. Him and his dad always didn't get along. Thats what led to his Florida heel run

Seriously though, it's hard to tell. His career was so shaped by not only his drug use but the tragedies that happened all around him.
If you'd said "What If all of the Von Erichs were clean" I'd then say that without any drugs, even steroids, in his system I'd put Kerry well behind most of his brothers. If it was just Kerry who was clean I don't think he would have made it nearly as far in the business outside of World Class, to the point where speculating how much further he would have gotten had he not died would be pointless.
The drugs and tragedies "made" Kerry. Unfortunately I don't think it's a case of "how much further he would have gone without them" as much as "he wouldn't have gotten as far as he did with them".

If they were clean.
If they had a different father.
If none of them were "expected" to become wrestlers.
If Fritz didn't let him borrow his gun to "go and do some thinking" on his property.
If Magnum TA never got in a car wreck.
If Hogan had stayed in the AWA.
If Turner Broadcasting didn't cancel WCW programming.
If Paul Heyman hired someone else to handle ECW's finances.
If Sid never started playing softball.
If Chris Benoit never got any concussions.
If TNA fired Vince Russo in 2003 and never brought him back.
If Triple H never hooked up with Stephanie.
If the $37 million wrestling fan lottery winner was introduced to PWG instead of meeting Jimmy Hart and forming Wrestlicious.
If Jake Roberts never did drugs.
If Jake Roberts had a different father.
If wrestling wasn't full of societal misfits.

He would've been there in WWF an extra year or so challenging for the IC title a few more times, but then that's it.

He was a great athlete with a great look. I think he had 'natural charisma' and had movie-star good looks, kind of resembling a young John Travolta. However, he was pretty bad at promos and didn't seem to possess the fire and passion that David had. He looked the part.
It's sad to say, but him staying clean would have been a tall order after the deaths of his brothers and the loss of his foot. Granted he was said to be on drugs before all of these tragedies. He just went through too much. Too much pain and tragedy.

I think his career would've gone on a bit further, but he would mainly be one of those guys that is a bigger star in their hometown than elsewhere.
