I absolutely love the character of the Punisher/Frank Castle, so was stoked when I heard he was coming to the big screen. Gotta say I loved Tom Jane in the lead role, hated the stuff with Joan, Dave and the other dude (don't remember his name). All that just didn't serve a purpose to me except to show that Castle had people watching his back. The fight scene with Kevin Nash as the Russian still makes me laugh, Travolta was a good heel of the movie, even though he hammed it up a tad.
Overall I really enjoyed the movie. One of my favourites. What did other people think of it?

I loved the movie as well. Don't know a lot about the comic cannon, but the movie was fun to watch. As far as the neighbors went, they were in there to show that Punisher still had feelings for those in trouble. To help set up his vigilante role for a sequel that never happened.

Put Thomas Jane in the Punisher Warzone movie and you'd have one fantastic film.

"Those who do evil to others-the killers, the rapists, psychos, sadists-you will come to know me well. Frank Castle is dead. Call me...the Punisher."
Loved this movie. Highly underrated.

Put Thomas Jane in the Punisher Warzone movie and you'd have one fantastic film. Disagree. That movie had a lot of things wrong with it but Ray Stevenson wasn't one of them. Stevenson was the perfect Punisher he was just in a terrible Punisher movie. Don't get me wrong I liked Jane too and over all I enjoyed the 2004 movie but Stevenson was like Frank Castle ripped from the comic book page and come to life.

I could have done without the secondary comic relief neighbors but overall a pretty good movie.
The very ending was extremely over the top and unnecessary though. Travolta should have lived, given that his entire family was dead, giving him death was merciful.

The skull made out of flames was so wonderfully stupid. You just think of him spending an hour out there parking all those cars.

I'm sure he anxiously watched the news afterward, hoping that someone would noticed. Plus, even planning it would seem like a painstaking task, thankfully it wasn't crooked or anything...

I liked it
It's funny how some people dislike this because it's too comedic but the book it's somewhat based on (Welcome Back Frank) is more comedic, Frank kills the russian by suffocating him with the fat neighbor.

First time I saw Stevenson in the Punisher get up, I said to myself - "Now THAT'S the Punisher!". I didn't have much of a problem with Warzone just because Stevenson was so awesome. I wish they'd call him back up for a reboot.

They should've made a movie based on the Avenging Angel version of Punisher instead. That would've made tons of money.

Wow, I must be the only one here who actually liked War Zone despite some of the problems like the super punch of death, the over-the-top portrayal of Jigsaw and the concept of Castle helping out that woman and her daughter despite the fact that he killed the woman's husband, not knowing he was undercover initially. I can admit that movie's flaws, but I still liked it. I still remember actually seeing it in theaters, five days before Christmas no less, not to mention that it flopped at the time.
Anyway, I saw the 2004 film in theaters as well. I remember enjoying it, despite some of the changes in the origin and such. I liked how the 2005 game is sort of connected with this film, yet it involved many elements from the comics. Plus, Thomas Jane did the voice of Castle in the game. By the way, has anybody seen the extended cut? I own that version. It seemed to have had more stuff with the old FBI partner of Castle's in that version.

The flaming skull scene just made me think "I, too, have seen The Crow."

I love all 3 for different reasons. Jane and Stevenson both did a fantastic job of different versions of the character (and Frank has more different portrayals in the books than damn near any other character). And Warzone is my favorite. It is just balls out stupid ass action.

The flaming skull scene just made me think "I, too, have seen The Crow." Daredevil did the same thing as well. Hell Batman in Dark Knight Rises--hero's just like making flaming versions of their logos. Human Torch is over going: "...Hey!"
